A brace each for Vinyl Richie and Chappers secured a 4-2 victory for the 'MOTHS' in the first Pitch Invasion game for AFC Lizard.

The first goal came from a visionary roll out from Albion Rob in the Lizards goal and set VR free to finish confidently past the outstreched arm of the 'Casualties' keeper. The next 5 minutes was a confusing time for the Lizards as they didn't know whether to consolidate their lead and sit back or go for the second goal, this led to an equaliser from A & E. The Lizards had been caught upfield and a simple through ball cut them in half, as the outfield players screamed at Albion Rob the A&E striker bore down on goal, Rob froze and the player latched onto the ball and beat a hapless Rob, the Lizards were visibly shaken. Fortunately they were calmed by an extraordinary piece of play from the boy LENNON and Chappers. Almost straight from the kick off the Lizards had the ball on the half way line, Chappers began a storming run down the left wing and LENNON threaded a ball straight into his path, under pressure from a Casualties defender Chappers had to hit it first time from an acute angle and hit it he did, the shot flew along the ground, past the arm of the A&E keeper and nestled in the bottom corner of the net, Chappers had opened his account in style.
Again the Lizards did not settle and A&E came back at them with a second equaliser, some DIN scored for them and I can't really remember how. Anyhoo, it was half time and the Lizarsd rung the changes as Mark, ANTELOPE and Zteve came on to replace LENNON, VR and Crabtree BHA. They settled very well and a sense of calm came over the proceedings for the first 5 minutes of the second half. Next came a highlight and possibly the best goal I've seen for a while, Vinyl Richie had re-introduced himself into the game and had won a free kick down the left wing, without a second thought he hit it with tremendous power and direction and the ball was in the top corner of the A & E goal, I wonder if the keeper even saw it to be honest. The Lizards were now 3-2 up and were not ready to let the lead slip, aperiod of pressure from A&E follwed but they struggle dto find their rhythm and did not register a shot on goal.
For this time Chappers had been off the field resting up but with 4 minuets left was brought back in to the side, the effect was immediate. Playing in an unaccustomed forward role, Chappers was causing all sorts of problems holding the ball up and a great one-two with Vinyl Richie following a throw from Albion Rob set him up for his second and the Lizards fourth, the ball came from the right wing from VR and was perectly weighted, Chappers let the ball roll across his body and placed a shot into the top corner of the Casualties goal. The game was won and a sense of relief was felt by all involved.

A good performance from the LIzards but there is still work to do concerning organisation and possibly fitness but the unbeaten run continues. We look forward to next week as the Lizards ready themselves for another victory.

 nice write up mate, was indeed good goals from both the scorers. We can only get better in organisation, I thought some of the passing last night was a little off but at times we showed that we can pass it around like Brazil...that will come with time. Think of this season as a pre-season tournament for next season (when there should be alot more teams).
Well done everyone who played, especially JOHN!
