Bon Jovi

Can't WAIT to see them live next month (for the 2nd time).

Don't get me wrong, I like Aerosmith, and can happily listen to their stuff, but I'd pick Bon Jovi over them every day of the week and twice on Sundays. I know a lot of people dismiss them as vapid 80's hair metal, but they put on an awesome live show which is still selling out stadia after 25 years, and they're all very talented musicians in their own right, having sold over 120 million albums worldwide.

David Bryan, the keyboardist, has written musicals and songs for musicals, and Richie Sambora has to be one of the most under-rated guitarists in rock, the solo in Dry County, for a start, is up there with anything Slash et al can do or have done. He's also released two solo albums, which are great if you like a slightly more blues-y style of rock.

Aerosmith

Get A Grip was one of the finest albums of the 90's.

Aerosmith by a country mile.

both incredibly overrated

Word.

aero are doing songwriter material in order to get into the charts and make money. They'll be doing a Rod Stewart next and doing Sinatra numbers to reach the old biddies.
Commercial pap.

Bongiovi - created and preconceived glammy hair band. Only there because daddy Bongiovi is a big producer. Nepotism on a Lenny Krapitz scale.

Bollocks.

Jon Bon Jovi's dad is/was a hairdresser FFS. The only even vague form of nepotism was that his cousin co-owned the studio where he (not the band as it ended up being, just him) made his first demo.

You are right - but it WAS his second cousin who is the producer and NEPOTISM'D Jon 'Bon Jovi' into the music business.

Take a look - Tony Bongiovi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tony was a bit more than just a studio 'silent partner'!
