With respect, I couldn't help thinking of Dara O'briains stand up quips regarding 'alternative medicine'.

We know alternative medicines have been around for centuries, we TESTED them and the ones that WORK we made into MEDICINES, whilst the rest became pot pourri and soup !!!

I hope that all goes well re: the OP.

total nonsense.

think you need to do some research about cures for cancer that have been surpressed and the story of AIDs and how that was man made.........but you carry on and believe what they tell you.

my dad was having chest pains and lost the feel in his left arm, doctor came and checked him out and said its because he doesn't get enough excisise. My brother came round the next day and dad was having the same symptoms and my brother rang 999. 10 minutes later the ambulance turned up and put him on a machine then straight to hospital.

That is shocking. I am not a doctor but isn't it common knowledge then when you lose the feel of your left arm (or right arm come to think of it) you are in heart problem territory. Glad everything worked out for you. I lost my mum to a heart attack two years ago and am convinced it was brought on by the charlatan that f***ed up her hip replacement surgery and had to get her to go in and get it redone

He had blocked artirys going to his heart. The doctors at the hospital said he's lucky to survive and asked for the doctors name.

I can't thank my brother enough.[/QUOTE]

came to see my Mum on my Stepdad's request. I was shocked, she has lost about 3 stone in 6 weeks, looks guant. Sits in a chair all day, massive effort for her to move, refuses to eat and is being sick every half hour. She keps slumping forward and falling asleep and is extremely bad tempered. Sorry to post such a personal thread but am very worried

Well, it sounds life or death tbh, so if I were you I'd do any and everything to persuade her to get professional attention.
Whether you try "do it for everyone else/us who care for you", or let her know that life is worth fortifying and continuing - then do whatever has an effect on her.
Agree about just calling the doc anyway - she might be frightened of entering into the whole process of exams and hospitals, but once it's under way she could possibly accept it as a done deal and then beyond her denial.

local doctors are just salesmen for the pharma corps........they are not healers. look at the symptoms, and look at natural or alternative options - ones been around for centuries.

so many ppl rely on pharma for everything.

The reason medicines are "alternative" is because they have not been scientificaly tested and therefor at the mercy of spiritulist type mumbo jumbo.

Why would anyone suppress a cure for cancer when they could make a mint out of it as well as fend of the high risk they or close kin may get cancer? You talk so much bollocks its unreal.

Thank you for the advice, a Doctor is coming out to the house and hopefuly we can get to the botom of this and get her on the road to recovery, I feel a few exams/tests will be in store but it's better to know what we're facing.
Again thank you.

Gibberish of the highest order

When you die after trusting an "alternative remedy" that consists of water or the like, don't expect any sympathy

Thank you for the advice with this. We got my Mum staright to hospital. Unfortunately the worst was confirmed and she starts Chemotherapy on Monday, but at least she is in the right place. Without sounding pious, this thread may serve as a heads up to those umming and ahhing about scans and checks. Get them done. Thank you.

Very sorry to hear that but at least something is being done. If it helps, I had chemo and radiotherapy as a baby and I'm still here kicking over 45 years later.

Sorry to read the outcome but at least she has a fighting chance now she's getting treatment. I hope she gets better soon and that you don't feel guilty for getting her to hospital.

call an ambulance.

Edit: clearly a bit late I wasn't bothering to look at dates, at least she is getting the care now. I hope she has a quick recovery.
