Hi all,
I want to add Apple Carplay to my car, and t'internet tells me you can buy kits and do it yourself (the kit would integrate with the existing touchscreen and radio) or pay a specialist to do it.
I would be interested to hear anyone's experience of going the DIY route (I'm a little worried about titting it up tbh) or any recommendations for Sussex-based specialists who could help.
Cheers

Far be it from me to hijack a thread but Absolute radio stopped broadcasting on AM last week and is now only available on DAB. Anyone know an easy way to get DAB on a non DAB car radio ?

Google 'DAB audio adaptor'. basically you can get a little box that plugs into the cigarette lighter.

Basically all you are doing is swapping the stock stereo for an aftermarket one. I did it with the combined help of a teenager and You Tube.

The tricky bit is removing the old stereo / fascia panel without damaging any trim. You may need a replacement fascia panel to suit the new stereo, and also maybe an adaptor cable to go between the new stereo and the car's existing wiring.

Why do you want apple CarPlay rather than Bluetooth or something ? Is there a specific app ? I’ve had it in 2 cars and has been useful for things like Waze but never really stuck with it
