They are certainly adding proper time on aren't they? Proper time being added on for subs injuries and time wasting so far in this tournament

Pierluigi Collina stated that the refs and 4th officials would be timing all time wasting and adding it so that there would be 90 minutes of football played instead of 75 mins played with 15 mins wasted.

Yes, well observed by the OP. Its certainly noticable that the appropriate time is FINALLY being added on. It was easily 8 minutes to deal with the Iranian keeper after the initial collision, another 2-3 to get him off when he went down again, plus 3 goals so 14 minutes added time was entirely in keeping with that. The 9 minutes added on in the second half was also in line with the Maguire thing plus 5 goals, 1 being a pen.

Going by that, the officials are going to be timing this properly. UNLIKE in the PL, where shithouse teams like Forest and Villa can easily burn 10-15+ minutes from a game with their tedious antics.

Whilst agreeing with adding the correct amount of wasted time I would much prefer to see the referees taking steps to reduce the wasted time, eg making players leave the field for treatment, unless of course it’s serious. Players deliberately rolling back on the pitch should be carded, and a player screaming in agony should be given a minimum 5 minute “rest”.
Subs who throw the ball back on the pitch knowing full well that another ball is available should also be carded.
