 Now lets put to bed the myth,The reality is ADAMS did a very good job at Brighton but he did walk away for a bigger club.
Would we have been promoted had he stayed or was it in our interest to get Peter Taylor, who knows, whatever your view it can only be conjecture.
He went to Leicester spent millions got promoted and then couldn't sustain a place in the top flight!
Now Leicester are favourites to bounce back!! well, well, little old Brighton with a guy called McGhee turned up Makeshift striker and all and BEAT them..
Enough said but I have thought all along that Mark Mcghee would prove to be possibly the best manager we've had since I have been supporting (since 1948) ONLY TIME WILL TELL but isn't it time to give our full support to the current incumbant and who knows? look at what Mcghee has spent! STOP the hero worship and get behind what we have, for the forseeable future we need a tactician and motivator..I think we have that>>:drink:

McGhee is the best we have.
Adams is the best we had.
Can't I appreciate them both????

Back in Div 3 Adams was fortunate enough to be able to build the side of his dreams.

After that first full season, we knew that we had a side that could match anyone in Div 3 and of course any side in Div 2.

The players were his players and he knew how to exploit them to the full.

I believ that Taylor was a good manager. Adams equal. But didn't have the luxery of designing his own team.

I was never convinced about Coppell.

McGhee mmmmmmmm. Money, our ground, our image are his restraints to developing his ideal side. Generally football pundits rate him Only on Sat Strachan put a good word in.

He has moved our side away from the Div 3 promotion side. Only 3 of that team played today.

If we have him for 4 years, I believ he will develop a competant Div 1 side. Nothing fancy but a side of hard workers, built on a relatively low budget.

I'd back Mickey to turn things round at Leicester if the fans stay patient.

He's a very different style of manager to McGhee that's true. McGhee is probably the superior tactician but there are a lot of other qualities that make up a good manager, determination, motivational skills, the ability to develop players, Mickey has these qualities in spades.

And Coppell was never convinced by Virgo!!!!! Hmmmm!

For me It was Adams that started this all off, strangely enough everything we have acheived seemed to start after that 2-0 defeat against Kidderminster - Aug. Bank Hol. 2000!

But McGhee does seem to be a very good tactician - and It's encouraging to see us back in the sort of form that got us to, and through the play-offs last year.

Adams spent 125000 in building a team that finished 17th in div 3 to a side that finished 11th in div 3 and a 14 match unbeaten run and then champions by a long way. He then got us to 3rd in div 2.

Adams has had sod all to spend at Leicester, took them up from div 1 in his first season as runners up and then got relegated with no money to compete.

They will go up this season and if Leicester sack the football god they are mad !.
