Adams: Conditions made it difficult

Sorry if fixtures.

Just reading the interview with Adams on the official website, and can't quite believe what he's coming out with.

"They were really difficult conditions and I think everybody could appreciate that, and I was pleased really to get in at half-time at only 1-0"

It says we were up against a headwind in the first half. But surely we would have been playing WITH the wind in the second half? If so, I wonder what his excuse was for not scoring, because quite clearly Hartlepool would have been experiencing "difficult" conditions in the second half!

im going for the old wind died down in the 2nd half senario

Even if the wind had died down in the 2nd half, if our team was good enough, we could have put at least 1 past them.

They just dealt with it a lot better than us the conditions were no excuse both teams had to deal with them. The wind died down slightly in the second half but I don't really think that helped either side. The team selection was the main thing wrong today, particularly the decision to leave Thornton out.

One thing about Micky Adams hasn't changed. He can never accept that he is to blame and the buck stops with him.

Pathetic excuse, Kuipers couldnt cope with his kicking to begin with, and kept kicking the ball off the pitch.

Yes it was windy, but it doesnt mean you can only have shot to make their keeper save it.

The tactics were horribly wrong, and the formation was not right.

We kept trying to kick it long to Virgo, who would win the ball in the air the majority of the time, but he kept trying to flick it on, and the ball just drifted off the pitch or to their keeper. He needed to have someone upfront with him if he was going to keep trying to flick it on.

At least with Murray, if he was upfront, he wouldnt try and flick it on. He would try and get hold of the ball, and bring the other players into the game.

Virgo is not a centre forward so dont play him there.

Why recall Gargan, but leave him in the stands?

Doug, I dont think we should get rid of Adams (yet) but I know you are a sensible long standing fan so what I would like to know is how long does someone like our manager get before he gets the bullet.

Seriously now,
is in 2 more months ?
End of season ?
mid way through next season ?
The full 3 years ?

of course I am talking about our poor form continuing here.

Blaming the weather for a defeat is pretty lame. Sorry to sound like I'm joining in with the masses, but this sort of response is not the Micky I remember. The old Adams would have bitten the interviewers head off if he'd have dared offer the players the excuse of the conditions.

I agree.

Adams of old would have been in his box, shouting instructions and geeing his team up. Not mostly sat hunched in the dug out.

This Adams is like a rabbit caught in a cars headlights. Seems the passion has ebbed from him. Just another job to bring in his wages.

What a crap excuse, it was the same for both sides. I'm seriously worried where our next win will come from, and this isn't the old MA we all know and love. I can't see him being with us for to much longer, if we continue like this....

with the wind to their advantage, hartlepool utterly DESTROYED us, with the wind to our advantage it was pretty even, with maybe even them being the better team
