Does anyone else think he has it written into his contract that he MUST play if fit?... Because it seems to me that if there is someone better than him to play in the position he occupied the previous week then they just stick him somewhere else, regardless of if he can play there or not... Classic square peg/round hole syndrome... Just seems a little odd... Perhaps the management will rest Kuipers midweek and stick Virgo between the sticks for the Orient game.

he's a defender or a headless chicken up front, why he's back I'll never know!

Its possible that he was Dick Knights 'signing' and Mickey is having to accomodate him in the team.
Mickey may well think that Hawkins / Elphick is a better combination at centre back so he is 'having' to find a place elsewhere for Virgo.

This is the sort of stuff McGhee used to get pilloried for - playing players out of position.

I know Virgo is supposed to be versatile, but right winger is stretching it way beyond credibility.

Rightly pilloried IMO. Some of his ideas worked - ie Virgo up front, Reid at right and left back, but many such as Hinshelwood on the right wing were pretty daft. And this I suspect falls into the same category.

I will stick by my view that he will be the first choice right back by Christmas.
At least people are begining to realise that Whing is the weak link in the back four along with an unfit Hawkins, who showed it yesterday, so there is ample opportunity to put Virgo in the back four.

Firstly, I am not a Virgo fan. Think is too much of a headless chicken and therefore a liability. However, can I just say that just because someone plays on the right side of a four man midfielder doesn't mean they are there to play as, in the true sense of the word, a right winger. He was, nonetheless, out of position as he would be anywhere along the middle. Perhaps we will see the back of him when Mcleod and Thompson are fit again.
