Considering his run of form how close is he to be in the running in the egyptian national team , dont know much about their standard of players but could he make it ?

...not so sure, following our dreadful showing at the last World Cup he might be better waiting to see what happens if we make it into the Championship...if he gets noticed by a Premier League club anything is possible!

Gus did say when he took over, that El-Abd was Brighton's best player. Be interesting if he could be asked if he would consider playing for Egypt.

Thats a good point they have won it 7 times and the holders so they must be pretty solid at the back

You actually thnk Egypt are better than England - laughable. Even the original poster was prob joking. Those rankings must mean something as they're based on 'games won and lost'... As for what have we won - In international football there's 2 top comps every 4 yrs - that's a bit like saying the Albion are shit cos they've never won the FA Cup or Prem Lg. The original question i was asking was isn't he half Egyptian half English. Or is he English with Egyptian heritage?
