Adam El Abd is an insult to every other professional footballer in the country

Yes he did make a mistake in the leeds match but what about the rest of the season - didn't he get 4th for player of the season ?

Something like that, though other than Forster/Elphick/Kuipers there wasn't really a lot of choice! He did play well after that, was it mainly in midfield? I can't really remember where he played anymore!

No no no - not aimed at you either. In fact, not aimed at ANYONE in particular. I'm just a bit fed up that everyone there today can see how shit it was and has a right good moan, including a fair few who really went to town on some of our players. But then come on here and a bit of criticism makes you a bad fan.

Who said that (a bit of criticism makes you a bad fan) ?

There's no problem with the moaning. I respect your right to do so. But, you cant be surpised by the reaction some people give you, through the way you do 'moan', i.e the thread title could be a little exaggerated which of course causes people to react more fervently.

To be honest I can see why TCB is so angry. For someone to play like that in any tier of the football league and at whatever ground is not good enough. Its not a case of him not being good enough as he produced some excellent performances this season. However whether im travelling to the withdean or Brunton Park I like to see players who i know are competent actually looking like they give a shit and playing as if they want to be there.

Totally f***ing HOPELESS today. No pace, no skill, no strength - tear up his contract now!

Turned inside out for both the first two goals, he made it men against boys out there.

So I would just like to thank our Adam for ruining a day out lasting 18 hours, costing £100, taking in two different COUNTRIES, six different fast food meals, and a crashed hire car.

DISGRACE:angry:

I was going to post pretty much the same thing as what you've said. a whole day, a shit load of driving split betwen me and my dad, a lot of different service stations, and little chef's and burger king's etc. Except for the crashed hire car lol :lolol:

I havent been to a game in a while (a couple of months, northampton away was the last game i went to) but i cannot believe that hawkins has been playing worse than adam el-abd did today. he is not a centre back, end of, and probably not a professional footballer in general

I left Sussex years ago. It's the title of the thread that leaves you open to criticism.

Exactly. Strangely though TCB still cannot understand why people take offence. There is nothing wrong with starting a thread about what a shocker El Abd had, but when you start a thread with this title almost every right thinking Albion SUPPORTER is going to be on your back.

Anyways - didn't TCB's partner in whine start a thread after the Swindon game to suggest how AWESOME El Abd was?

From the commentary it sounded like he was playing ok. Some of the Sunday papers give him the highest score of the defensive players too.

It no more makes you a bad fan than a bad performance makes Bomber an insult to every other professional footballer in the country.

He is a limited trier, and surely our expectations of him should reflect that, yesterday he was a bit rubbish, at other times he will have a better day at work.

He hasn't beaten up a taxi driver, kicked someone's head in due to the colour of their skin, run up gambling debts and then refused to pay them, parked his Bentley in a disabled parking spot, stolen from someone who earns a fractions of his weekly pay or anything else which does bring embarrassment to his profession.

Criticise yes, but a bit of perspective does add rather than detract from your comments.

I think its all a bit over the top about El Abd - yes he gave the first goal away, and after that nobody was going to see any good things that he did. I remember him charging down a almost certain goal in the second half, which was great defending. The whole team played shite yesterday, they lack energy, they did not move off the ball, which made whoever had the ball look stupid as he had no one to pass to, hence long aimless kicks to Carlisle players who immediately put us under pressure, 3-1 flattered us, they should have scored at least twice that many. It was pointed out to me in the car on the way back that we always play shite in Carlisle - if thats the case why the hell do we bother going!!

The ratings were supplied by the RNIB. Responsible for the first of their goals by fannying about dribbling the ball to near the halfway line where he was dispossessed and then struggling to get back to the defensive line. Responsible for the second goal by doing a superb imitation of a defensive Robbie Savage. If it wasn't for FDM and the poor finishing qualities of the Carlisle players it could have been 5-0 going in at half time.

You know, I just wish we had a few more objective opinions on here rather than the regular Sunday Morning 'Knee Jerk recaction' binfest following any defeat.

Face a simple fact, whether the manager we have is right or wrong for the job we just don't have the personnel (or the funding) to have a promotion winning team. It could be worse, we could be Luton or Bournemouth.

One bad game and he deserves a thread title like that? Get some perspective man.

What concerned me was how apologetic he was. After one mis-kick he apologised to half the team, and the bench.

Danny Cullip never admitted to making mistakes.
