Accrington face winding-up order

Not good news for the Accies...

Accrington Stanley have been issued with a winding-up order by HM Revenue and Customs over unpaid debts, but remain hopeful they will survive.

The League Two club will have a hearing in the High Court on 10 June.

They owe around £300,000 in unpaid tax and national insurance and claim this is a result of dropped income levels because of dwindling crowds.

The english football league is the best in the world because of teams like accrington, and all the other teams in the lower leagues, where else to you get 5-6 thousand turning out for 4th tier football. This whole money thing in football is really starting to right royally piss me off now. Brought home to me yesterday in the Terygraph sports section. There was an almost full page spread on Torres being given a new contract that involved a £20K payrise to put him on £110K A WEEK. In the corner of the same page was a small paragraph on Southampton players not getting paid.
