Accommadation : British Open Golf ???

The Open's being held at Royal Liverpool in Hoylake this year .
Looking to stay in nice village pub that serves good food .
There doesn't appear to be an abundance of any decent quality accommadation in the Wirral area . Happy to stay in Cheshire or North Wales or even a little bit further afield . Would welcome any suggestions ...

We have booked up in Chester, not 100% sure, but there is supposed to be a bus running from Chester train station every day.

You'll really struggle to get any accommodation on the Wirral, whether it be in a 5 Star Hotel or basic BB above a pub. Everything has been booked up for ages.
