What a fickle twat you're. Steven Gerrard wears his heart on his sleeve everytime he is in a Liverpool shirt, this man has saved Liverpool many countless times with tremendous strikes, this man also scored his first goal and the equaliser may I add for England against Germany in the 5-1 demolition. In my book Steven Gerrard is a class act and my hero.

Past performance doesn't necessary provide a guide to performance in the future.

Yes he's commited to the club now, but what about when he wanted to jump ship to Chelsea when they offered him the money.

That England game was 7 years ago now, yes it was a great result, but apart from the odd occasion, when is the last time he performed for England?

He may be your hero but he is also a cheat.

Err, it was a penalty awarded to the ENGLISH team you lot.

You are aware of that. Right?

And we, as guardians of the game, should play it as it was meant to be played. fair and square. Ok, a bit OTT, but we have a go at foreign players for diving, so have to point out when 'our' players do too.

Diving and cheating are ruining the game. It needs to be stamped out.

Let put this in another perplixion, if Steven Gerrard dived in the World Cup final and got us a vital penalty to win the World Cup.

Would you:

A:- Be over the moon, and celebrate like a madman

Or

B:- Moan about it and say we didn't win it fairly!

We don't need Chris Tarrant for this one. :jester:

I'd celebrate as it happened, no doubt, but I would in time be embarrassed by it. It's a sad state of affairs that you should have to put up that argument, shows how accepted it has become.

Will be on ITV1 in a minute.

I can't argue or disagree with yes they deserved a draw with the second-half performance, maybe even more, but not with the way they always go about it.

It was a dive, and yes the officials were poor. Got most things wrong in the second-half, I'm not disagreeing that they at least deserved a draw, just they always do it by a 'lucky' penalty.

Steven Gerrard is a diver and that is true fact, most players are, but it;s the way he goes about doing it that really irrates the f*** out of me and everyone I know.

The cheating retard name is what he is known as amungst my friends, because he is one of the worst cheats around.

You do post some shit on here but you're outdoing yourself tonight. Always do it by a lucky penalty? What a load of bollocks. I suppose the exact same style of penalty given to Chelsea last season was OK because it was against Liverpool?

Don't be silly now. Didn't you know it's well cool to slag off English teams playing in European competitions.

As for the penalty that was given, no I don't think it was a penalty at all. Still it makes up for the 2 that should have been given. The foul on Agger in the first half and the handball in the 2nd.

No, that decision last year was a disgrace, even more of the one we have seen today.

It was a lucky penalty, and somehow they always seem to get them, or something from the officials if things aren't really going their way at Anfield. Sheffield United away is one example of the top of my head.

what was worse than the actual penalty decision was the way the summarisers on ITV glossed over it and didnt want to say that it wasn't a penalty, f***ing disgraceful your meant to tell it as it is, not how you want it to be

Exactly, end of thread, any penalty no matter how dubious, awarded to an English team against a foreign team is a valid penalty FFS! Over the decades HOW many dodgy decisions have gone against English teams due to the theatrical antics of players playing in teams from Spain, Italy, Germany both at club and international level? We'll take everything we can get thank you very much, especially in this case, as has been pointed out above, when Athletico got away with a dead cert penalty shout against them for blatant handball in the area!

I think you have missed the point completely. I love to see English teams do well in Europe. I long for the days when you were disappointed if en English team wasn't in the Euroapeac Cup Final. It's made even better at the moment to see the look on Platini's face when the English teams do well, cos he hates us, BUT I want this to be achieved fairly and squarely, without the need for sinking to the level of our continental cousins.

What the commentator said, then Aguero just kicked the ball away from the kick-off spot in to the fans and got booked.

No he didn't. He did something completely legal.

You can't technically shoot from a kick off because it's an indirect free kick but if he had got the ball on target and the keeper had palmed it in it would have counted. If it had gone straight in the award would have been a goal kick. Either way there is no way he should have been booked.

Why do you all keep referring to STEVIE Gerrard as 'Steven'?

"And then, with seconds to play, Liverpool were again handed a reprieve through Steven Gerrard. So often Liverpool's saviour, the captain won a penalty in controversial circumstances."

Because Steven is his name isn't it? must admit not seen his birth certificate personally but i assume it correct.
