Oh, forgive me for showing my ignorance, now I understand, you are a gold plated, nailed on, tw@t of the highest order. If I had comprehended that you are so obviously of a far higher intellectual plane than myself and fellow posters, i would never of engaged you in any verbal jousting. Tell me just one thing though, how come you went to the Goldstone so often?(make it good, i would hate to call you a liar)

He probably went to the Goldstone so often because daddy made him and whilst there some ruffians picked on him and because of that decided to go to smellhurst because it was safer as they had no fans

Why do you presume that, just because I frequented the Goldstone more often than the majority of Amex customers, that I was there any more times than the average away fan? Remember, this was in a time when Brighton frequented a plane far higher than their traditional pre-Bloom lower league environs. Thus, our two teams were locked in battle on numerous occasions in the league, whereupon it was my pleasure to receive the welcoming rain of assorted legal non-paper tender from the home support as I stood in the cramped, floodlight-and-fence-hindered view of the away corner.

I feel you are placing too much emphasis on this point, which was merely used as an illustration in defence of the strange claim that I'd never visited Selhurst.

As for accusing me of thinking I'm on a higher intellectual plane to yourself and others, then perhaps a good start would be for you to make a good fist at grasping what seem to me to be somewhat simple concepts. Perhaps, like dear old hillian, you are blinded by impotent rage and the desire to make confrontation out of nothing? Overcome this hindrance, dear friend, and you would not 'of' had to concern yourself with trifles such as verbal jousting.

Would be sad to see Wilbs go. Palace legend.

Which is funny, as we'd be sad to see him join.

Let's be honest here, he's not a "Palace legend", he's a cult hero, famed mostly for his unstinting effort in the face of general shitness. There's a huge difference. You like him, but you're also taking the piss out of him in a friendly sort of way.

You know when you run a kids team and there's always one who's utterly useless at football, but who runs around all day with a smile on his face, and they give him a trophy at the end of the season for "Best Tryer" so he doesn't feel left out when the awards are given? That's highly commendable in a kids team. Not so much for a grown man.

Couldn't have put it better.

So long as we understand each other

We've spent years watching honest but largely incompetent triers.

Forgive us for not wanting another one now we've finally dragged ourselves back up to a level where half decent players might want to play for us.

Possibly, or perhaps you have no idea of how many Brighton fans attended the Goldstone in say, the last ten years of its unfortunate existence, how many season ticket holders you now have, how many of them went to the Goldstone more times than I did, nor what constitutes a majority.

Pretensions of good English. Whoever this person pertains to be is of the pseudo/nouveau posh variety. You can spot them a mile off. Ban him. Trying way too hard.

He looked much better than Ulloa in the playoffs

If you do sign him he'll do well in the Championship for another couple of seasons.
Do you know whom this thread is about? Palace got him for free (which is what he was worth when he has age on his side). He played for you all season and scored how many goals? Zero league goals, and a couple of cup goals (with the same total for Norwich the year before). In 1 year playing for us, Ulloa has scored 15. Do you actually watch football?
