A27 This Morning.

Does anybody know of there was some kind of police chase going on at about 05.15 this morning around the Southwick tunnel area?

I'm only asking because just after I exited the tunnel this morning heading eastbound I pulled into the inside lane a few seconds before a car passed me in the outside lane going the wrong way! Added to that there was a couple of police cars rushing along the westbound carriageway with all lights flashing.

f***ing near shit myself.

coming back from Swansea last season along the M4 in Wales a car was going the wrong way. I swerved out of the way (almost having a seperate acident as i had to cut up an arctic lorry!) unfortunatly the driver going the wrong way had a head on killing two innocent people.

I remember that Luckily we were about 10 minutes in front of that incident. The maniac was intent on committing suicide I read later.

That sort of driving is known by Sussex Police as a "Micky Adams manuover" i.e going the wrong way at speed and heading for certain catastrophe.

Off topic a bit, but there has to be something going on in there. Got to be the best maintained tunnel in the country. Closed again this weekend, every time I drive through it I check to see if some of the bulbs have gone or there is some other reason for repairing it, there never is anything apparent.
