Closed both eastbound & westbound - 2 seperate accidents. Lancing seems to be cut off from the outside world and my work mate is wondering how to get home!!

The Westbound carriegeway is closed because of a fatality. Young boy on a bike rode out in front of a car.

A guy I work with has just had to leave the office in a hurry, because his best mate was the driver of the car that had the accident.

What a terrible, terrible incident for all involved ...

someone has been hit on a crossing and by the amount of police and fuss i dont think they are very well both lane are closed and a white sports car is sat 30 yards from the crossing on the wrong side of the road with police trying to find out how fast the car was going, .

my best friend was in a bad car crash earlier at that place, would've been why the road was closed.

was driving back from his girlfriends when his back wheels gave way and he span across the road, hitting another car, hitting one crash barrier, spinning across the road and hitting the other

been with him all day and he luckily escaped with a broken leg

it was still closed when i got home just before six last night. i live at the top of halewick lane. that stretch of road is so dangerous good job they are building the bridge over the road near boundstone, although whether the kids will use it or not is anothe matter.

Yep - there's one of those opposite Angmering School.

Half the kids use it, half don't. I heard that a motorcyclist got killed there the other week, swerved to avoid a kid who walked out in front of him....

It's about time jay walking was made illegal. I was driving up St James Street last night and the amount of people walking into the road in the dark wearing dark colours was ridiculous. It didn't help that it was mostly PARENTS dashing across the road with their kids either.

f***ing IDIOTS.

CtS . . .f*** that . . ..this isnt America, how about teaching kids the green cross code properly

I know people whove been sued and had to claim on their own insurance becaus people have walked in front of them, I really feel for scooterists and bikers, you nearly always come off worst when your totally innocent

I was on my scooter last night, 3 people pulled out in front of me doing U turns in the road between Lancing and Shoreham, Fucktards

That would be the easiest alternative but if PARENTS don't do it who's going to. It pisses me right off that they can be so thick. If I had hit someone last night even at the 20 miless an hour I was being forced to drive at by these twats I would have had a court case on my hands and would have had the guilt surrounded by hitting someone with your car.

I agree CtS, its not right, schools these days seem to have to do parenting as well as teaching, I say neuter the parents to avoid them breeding, and if the little chavs get hit, it serves them right for not listening and learning, a few graphic videos should get their attention !

Ned had an OAP step out in front of him 9 years ago. He was on his motorbike and hit the old guy. There was no way of avoiding him. Ned was thrown across the road and the old bloke died.

Fortunately for Ned a couple of cars following him saw the whole thing and gave evidence to the police so he wasn't involved in any prosecution (the pedestrian was totally at fault) He did have to attend a coroners court where the verdict was accidental death.

Ned's insurance told him that he could claim for damages (to his helmet and leathers besides the bike) from the pedestrians household insurance. He did although he didn't claim anything for himself. I don't know how but he wasn't seriously injured, thank goodness.

The attitude of the police was appalling treating him like a criminal at first. He was quite bruised and laying in the hospital being talked down to.
Once they got all the statements in, they changed their tune a bit but motorcyclists are treated like lepers by the police and the hospitals.
