Going on from the Amir Khan thread, how many sportsmen and women have we "borrowed" over the years from the likes of South Africa, the Caribbean and so on? Ones who represented England/the UK/GB because they weren't good enough for their country of origin, or because we didn't have enough good ones with UK passports, or just because they fancied it.

Obviously Khan doesn't qualify here, because he is British born and bred (just thought I'd make that clear in case Stevie Boy wants to contribute).

I'll start.

Calm down dear.

:D I just thought it was interesting, that's all! Curious to see how many there have been over the years. Makes no odds to me (well so long as they're GOOD:lolol:).

Tessa Sanderson

Didn't know that one.

Anyway.

Craig Kieswetter (where on earth would our cricket team have been over the decades without South Africa?)

I'm trying to remember a bloke who was to all intents and purposes Australian, but who was picked by England during their particularly crap phase in the 1990s, and whom the Aussie cricketers nicknamed "the rat who joined the sinking ship"?

Putting a completely obtuse/sideways spin on this - you can accept mercenaries in England shirts, so how do you feel about born and bred Sussex football fans who go around wearing Manchester United or Chelsea shirts?

Well seeing as I was born in Kent and go around wearing a Brighton & Hove Albion shirt, I have no right to complain whatsoever, do I?
