Anything by Adam and the Ants.

Are you insane!!

The Antsa brought us:

Im the Dandy Highwayman
So full of good intention
I spend my cash on looking flash
and grabbing your attention!

And:

10, GIVE IT UP, 9,GIVE IT UP, 8, GIVE IT UP,7, GIVE IT UP,GIVE IT UP, 6, GIVE IT UP..FI FI FUH FUH FIVE..

Hey hey whadda ya say
had me a woman, she went away,
Fired off to the nearest star,
miss her lots
but ther ya are!

How's this for stretching a metaphor...

Spring was never waiting for us, girl
It ran one step ahead
As we followed in the dance
Between the parted pages and were pressed
In love's hot, fevered iron
Like a striped pair of pants

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again

The writer has explained exactly what the lyrics and the metaphor meant in this case.

Hot & cold emotions confusing my brain
I could not decide between pleasure & pain
Like a tramp in the night
I was begging for you

Samantha Fox is a tramp in the night, apparently.

Touch me, I wanna feel your body... :lolol:

or "Through the fire and the flames" by Dragonforce

Lost inside you'll never find, lost within my own mind,
Day after day this misery must go on!

Though to be fair probably the best piece of guitar playing I have ever heard!

We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So lets start giving

I´d like to thank the guy who wrote this song, that made my baby fall in love with me
who put the bom in the bom-bo-bomp-bom-bomp
who put the ram in the rama-lama-ding-dong
who put the bup in the bup-shu-bup-shu-bup
who put the di-di in the di-didi-di-di
who was that man, I´d like to shake his hand
he made my baby fall in love with me

when my baby heard, bom-bo-bo-bom-bo-bom-bom-bo-bom
every word went right in to her heart
and when she heard him singing rama-lama-lama-lama-lama-ding-dong
she said we never had to part

so, who put the bom in the bom-bo-bomp-bom-bomp
who put the ram in the rama-lama-ding-dong
who put the bup in the bup-shu-bup-shu-bup
who put the di-di in the di-didi-di-di
who was that man, I´d like to shake his hand
he made my baby fall in love with me

it´s time that we´re alone
.....
and every time we dance to du-dudu-dudu-du-dudu-du-du
she always sais she loves me so

so, who put the bom in the bom-bo-bomp-bom-bomp
who put the ram in the rama-lama-ding-dong
who put the bup in the bup-shu-bup-shu-bup
who put the di-di in the di-didi-di-di
who was that man, I´d like to shake his hand
he made my baby fall in love with me

darling, bom-bobo-bom-bom-bobo-bom-bom
now honey, rama-lama-ding-dong forever!
and when I said du-dudu-du-du-dudu
you know, I mean it from the bottom of my boogely-boogely-boogely-shu

who was that man, I´d like to shake his hand
he made my baby fall in love with me

I can actually answer that.

Barry Mann who was the man who put the bop in

It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away

Sounds like something your Dad used to say on a Sunday morning but is in fact U2, the same band that gave us such terrific political songs as Sunday Bloody Sunday. Hang your heads in shame.

"But we're in Sweden, how did you get to Sweden?"

Just been on the radio. Mr. Mathers certainly isn't the best lyricist at times ;)

Forgive me for being naive, Girls Aloud fans, but what the hell does "something kinda ooooh, jumping on my tutu mean"?

Are there any worse song lyrics EVER?*

I liked Beggars Opera's version, they also did a nice version of 'Classical Gas'.

The metaphor in MacArthur Park might require that one partake of the same wacky baccy that the author must've smoked. However, it does suggest the loss of a love that was invested in, and the awful ebbing away as it became ruined by the coming of a 'seasonal' change.

It must be a decent lyric, as loads of people question and ponder over it.

Worst lyric I can think of right now is that song 'Doot-Doot', which is utter crud. "yeah we go doot, doot-doot" :nono:
