Nestling in green nowhere
Near a tree by a river theres a hole in the ground
Where an old man of Aran goes around and around.

And Edna... how can you diss vanilla, the ONLY credible white rapper!

Like a super trouper
Lights are gonna find me
Shining like the sun
(sup-p-per troup-p-per)
Smiling, having fun
(sup-p-per troup-p-per)
Feeling like a number one

???

But where does the sailor who is a captain come in?

I read about this song a long time ago in a book about Latin music. I think the song originally comes from Mexico and is a wedding tune. Bamba comes from Bamblear(sp?) which means to shake.

In saying that "I am not a sailor", the husband means that he will be faithful to his wife. He is a captain - a man of principles.

For a strange kind of fashion there's a wrong and a right"

You're so right though, Vanilla Ice was the true pioneer of white rap.

Rocking the mic like a vandal, it must be said :lolol: :lolol:

How's this for stretching a metaphor...

Spring was never waiting for us, girl
It ran one step ahead
As we followed in the dance
Between the parted pages and were pressed
In love's hot, fevered iron
Like a striped pair of pants

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again

A super trouper is the biggest and brightest in set of stage spotlights, so that lyric (just about) makes sense.

I shall slip that nugget into polite conversation at the Ambassador's reception.

You want bad lyrics, listen to metal music.

"Everything Dies" by type o negative

Hey klm
At&t
The uk post system
Do you still love me?

or "Through the fire and the flames" by Dragonforce

Lost inside you'll never find, lost within my own mind,
Day after day this misery must go on!

Or whatabout "Warriors of the World united" by Manowar

Here our soldiers stand from all around the world
Waiting in a line to hear the battle cry
All are gathered here, victory is near
The sound will fill the hall, bringing power to us all

We alone are fighting for metal that is true
We own the right to live the fight, we're here for all of you
Now swear the blood upon your steel will never dry
Stand and fight together beneath the battle sky

[Chorus:]
Brothers everywhere - raise your hands into the air
We're warriors, warriors of the world
Like thunder from the sky - sworn to fight and die
We're warriors, warriors of the world

Many stand against us, but they will never win
We said we would return and here we are again
To bring them all destruction, suffering and pain
We are the hammer of the gods, we are thunder, wind and rain.

There they wait in fear with swords in feeble hands
With dreams to be a king, first one should be a man
I call about and charge them all with a life that is a lie
And in their final hour they shall confess before they die

[Repeat chorus]

If I should fall in battle, my brothers who fight by my side
Gather my horse and weapons, tell my family how I died
Until then I will be strong, I will fight for all that is real
All who stand in my way will die by steel

Brothers everywhere - raise your hands into the air
We're warriors, warriors of the world

[Repeat chorus to fade]

I´d like to thank the guy who wrote this song, that made my baby fall in love with me
who put the bom in the bom-bo-bomp-bom-bomp
who put the ram in the rama-lama-ding-dong
who put the bup in the bup-shu-bup-shu-bup
who put the di-di in the di-didi-di-di
who was that man, I´d like to shake his hand
he made my baby fall in love with me

when my baby heard, bom-bo-bo-bom-bo-bom-bom-bo-bom
every word went right in to her heart
and when she heard him singing rama-lama-lama-lama-lama-ding-dong
she said we never had to part

so, who put the bom in the bom-bo-bomp-bom-bomp
who put the ram in the rama-lama-ding-dong
who put the bup in the bup-shu-bup-shu-bup
who put the di-di in the di-didi-di-di
who was that man, I´d like to shake his hand
he made my baby fall in love with me

it´s time that we´re alone
.....
and every time we dance to du-dudu-dudu-du-dudu-du-du
she always sais she loves me so

so, who put the bom in the bom-bo-bomp-bom-bomp
who put the ram in the rama-lama-ding-dong
who put the bup in the bup-shu-bup-shu-bup
who put the di-di in the di-didi-di-di
who was that man, I´d like to shake his hand
he made my baby fall in love with me

darling, bom-bobo-bom-bom-bobo-bom-bom
now honey, rama-lama-ding-dong forever!
and when I said du-dudu-du-du-dudu
you know, I mean it from the bottom of my boogely-boogely-boogely-shu

who was that man, I´d like to shake his hand
he made my baby fall in love with me

Not the most ridiculous by some margin, but still...

Not to put too finer point on it,
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet,
Make a little birdhouse in your soul.

My brothers ex still torments the cheesey discobar DJs of west dublin by requesting that, then handing over a copy of it when they claim not to have it. :lolol:

Nestling in green nowhere
We can go where we want to
The night is young and so am I
We can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
and surprise 'em with our victory cry!
I say, we can act if we want to
If we don't nobody will
And we can act really rude, like totally removed,
Acting like an Imbecile!

Say, we can dance we can dance
everybody look at your hands!

What is all that about?

Hither and Thither
I see a little silhouetto of a man,
Scaramouche, scaramouche will you do the fandango-
Thunderbolt and lightning-very very frightening me-
Galileo,galileo,
Galileo galileo
Galileo figaro-magnifico-
But Im just a poor boy and nobody loves me-
Hes just a poor boy from a poor family-
Spare him his life from this monstrosity-
Easy come easy go-,will you let me go-
Bismillah! no-,we will not let you go-let him go-
Bismillah! we will not let you go-let him go
Bismillah! we will not let you go-let me go
Will not let you go-let me go
Will not let you go let me go
No,no,no,no,no,no,no-
Mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go-
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me,for me,for me-

I told him,
I am the flower,
you are the seed,
we walked in the garden,
and planted a tree.

Just a small snippet from 1 of my most hated songs, of all time.
