Paul Stewart. My God, how did that ever happen?

And Fatty Ruddock, the man who makes Guy Butters look like a sales rep for SlimFast!

In Fairness

Micheal Ball - Deserved his chance, good season for Everton and it was a friendly he played in
David Bardsley - Taylor Special
Earl Barrett - Taylor Special
warren Barton - Alternative was Lee Dixon
John Beresford - Never played, just squad call ups
Steve Bould - Had been on the verge for years, got his chance too late
Stan Collymore - All the talent, just a tad radio
Peter Davenport - ummmm
Brian Deane - Taylor Special
Kerry Dixon - Scored a lot of goals ala Beattie
Tony Dorigo - Stuart Pearce was injured and there was no one else
Dion Dublin - Deserved his chance due to about 3 excellent seasons
Micheal Gray - Crap but no else was fit when he got his 2 or 3 caps
Steve Guppy - Like Thompson, only midfielder who could trap a ball with his left foot, so got a game.
Andy Hinchliffe - Le Saux was injured and Hoddle would not bring Pearce back
David Hirst - Scored a lot of goals for Wednesday, if he had not suffered the injuries, I think may have had an international career
Brian Marwood - no comment
Gavin McCann - See Michael Ball
Neil Ruddock - El Tel's mate, only reason he played
John Scales - err struggling here as he was really crap.
Tim Sherwood - Thanks Keegan
Paul Stewart - Taylor Special

Don't agree. One of his four caps came in the World Cup Finals in Spain in 1982. He was superb then. Even if it was only against Kuwait.:D

Thought it was three games (Scotland, Holland and Kuwait), England won all three and didn't concede a goal.

No-way should the head-banded one be in the same list as these useless lot.

Harsh, better than both Dixon and Gary Stevens and I suspect would have kept Gary Neville out of the team, it was just the injuries that got him. Would say he was one of Taylor's better choices.
i think he played more under venables, remember that umbro cup thingy? and he was with a shout for the euro '96 squad. i don't think he was playing for liverpool when taylor was manager

Taylor capped him in about 92, just after he had moved from Crewe to Liverpool. He was involved in that Umbro Cup thing (I think) , but that was the tournament when Gary Neville made his debut and we have been stuck with that chcukle brother ever since. Oh for a rightback like Rob Jones....:D
