They had all the minis down in Brighton on the 20th of this month, never seen so many minis in my life. There were thousands of the things

I think they do a London to Brighton type thing...

That name rings a bell...a very big bell!!

You should have seen the minis on the weekend - absolutely in their element!! Sliding sideways around the track, fantastic sight to see...they love the wet weather!!

and this rather expensive ouch!!:

Chevron

It obviously does ring a bell, or your choice of image was a big coincidence - Tim and his Monte Carlo co-driver Roger Andreasson, were the owners of Chevron Cars, building sports cars in a big tin shed in Dorset.

Well done Zef and Tede, is he in any of those photos?
Been BH a lot with ex brother in law, used to race kit cars. It's an eye opener to walk through pits to see the difference in money that is spent. He had to race against 2 blokes with 6 litre Chevy LeMan replicas with full time pit crew. He would just turn up with his dad. He did get lapped................ a lot, but was OK in his class.

Its amazing isn't it...and for the historics there isn't any prize money or anything...

Until Arthur came along I was our entire pit crew  I was standing on the wall at Spa, holding out the pit board for Zef and I could hear this rumble pop bang coming around the corner (theres a corner before the start finish straight so you can't really see whats coming) and before you know it, theres a Dulon racing full tilt under my pit board, i could see his face!! Scared the living life out of me - it has a massive Chevy v12 engine and is only about 40 inches high!!

I think so, he's been asked to drive someone elses car (a Alfa Guiletta ti) at the Silverstone Classic, but I don't think he's going to do it due to the Goodwood invite.

Chimay is off anyhow...But Spa we're definitely doing! Its a fab weekend in belgium!!

BIG congratulations! Spa is fabulous too although the weather notoriously iffy. All the best of luck.

Of ostentatious motorhomes, this was something we encountered when I was the timekeeper for a mate racing - on a shoestring! - in the Renault 5 Turbo Championship. You'd have thought this was a relatively modest series but far from it. Nice people (other than Rowan Atkinson who was a rude pig) but they remained baffled about our turning up at Silverstone, Donington and the Nurburgring in a series of unlovely camper vans!

Thats the one! The whole event is called the Six Hours of Spa! You'd love it - although the beer there is cheap so all you'd need is some warm clothes for the evenings and a good drinking elbow..

Wow - Renault 5's?? Super fast! and I know exactly what you mean about Mr Atkinson, we were told last year that he had officially asked that no staff talk to him around the paddock!!

We've had pretty good luck with Spa weather (touch wood) a couple of times its pissed down overnight but been dry enough during the day for racing! But it does get chilly at night!!

Actually Roz - can you and your camera be hired for a day? Just thinking aloud about the Goodwood revival - if its the first and last time we get invited it'd be nice to have it properly recorded! If you are - let me know and I'll pm you...
