Just back from Preston. It was awful, except for the brillaint chants ('Can we play you every week?') was my favourite. However, Preston were really good, and Hart's sending off was contemptible.

Given that some of our fellow Sussex residents and certain politicians are doing their best to destroy our club, the fact that we are where we are and still have a great chance of staying there is nothing short of astonishing. We have had some unforgettable victories this year and all we need is two more. COME ON LADS!! Here's some for for Saturday:

Because We Can - Fatboy Slim
Hope Street - Levellers
Rescue - Bunnymen
Get Up, Stand Up - Marley
Pressure Drop - Toots or Clash
Time for Action - Secret Affair
If The Kids Are United - Sham 69
Everything Will Be Alright - The Killers
Cheer Up, It Might Never Happen - Carter USM
Something Better Change - Stranglers

Those whining NIMBYs, tree hugging arseholes and traitorous politicians had better hope we get our stadium and survive.....
otherwise the anti Archer campaign will look like a picnic in comparison!!!!

Though it may seem at times that we might as well be members of the 2/24th Regiment of Rorkesdrift fame i feel we can and will suceed as we have come far to far to turn back now!!!!!

Albion teams of old have faced far worse prospects than this and the crowd have always had a massive part to play. all i have to do to remember why we support this club through thick and thin is watch and listen to the emotion as Ian Chapman's thirty yard thunderbolt flies in against Bournemouth and listen to eight thousand voices make a noise that would make most premiership crowds blush......

Heres to three points and hopefully some goals to cheer as though our lives depended on it!!!!!

UP THE MIGHTY ALBION!!!!

Maybe 'Heaven knows I'm miserable now' would be more appropriate?

Seriously though, I think a lot of upbeat music would be fantastic on Saturday.

Here and There
How about 'Keeping the Dream Alive' by Freiheit?

Tonight the rain is falling
Full of memories of people and places
And while the past is calling
In my fantasy I remember their faces

The hopes we had were much too high
Way out of reach but we have to try
The game will never be over
Because we're keeping the dream alive

I hear myself recalling
Things you said to me
The night it all started
And still the rain is falling
Makes me feel the way
I felt when we parted

The hopes we had were much too high
Way out of reach but we have to try
No need to hide no need to run
'Cause all the answers come one by one
The game will never be over
Because we're keeping the dream alive

I need you
I love you

The game will never be over
Because we're keeping the dream alive

The hopes we had were much too high
Way out of reach but we have to try
No need to hide no need to run
'Cause all the answers come one by one

The hopes we had were much too high
Way out of reach but we have to try
No need to hide no need to run
'Cause all the answers come one by one

The game will never be over
Because we're keeping the dream alive

The game will never be over
Because we're keeping the dream alive

The game will never be over

Good stuff Atilla "C'mon we need a twelth man out here!"

Out of interest I don't see the humour in us(at least I'm assuming it was us not them) chanting "Can we play you every week?" at Preston. Was it because we only shipped three goals instead of the usual four or five?

I think it was because we had a cross-come-shot in the second half so we taking the piss out of ourselves. It was a depressing evening had to try cheer ourselves up someway!
I liked the 'you might as well go home', and 'cheerio...' chanting as well when the pne fans were streaming out with 5mins to go! :)

It was irony, 'cos they looked really good..
other gems included 'You might as well go home' (as some of their fans left early)
We sang from start to finish. Preston really did look a class side. Funny how things are: we beat Sunderland with 10 men, they then win 7 in a row and we lose 6 -
just goes to show that all is not lost.

But the delays with Falmer and the nauseating attitude of the NIMBYS is really getting to me now. I hate them as much as Archer, and blame them as much for our current predicament.

LC, I'm burning a CD of that lot, if you're serious you can have it after the game
(PA box or Evening Star later)

Jesus......you had to have the "irony" explained to you?!

Anyway my thoughts on last night.....
1. Now we're where everyone expected us to be we'll start playing. The last 6 games have been about hood-winking the other teams at the bottom into thinking we're not up for a relegation scrap
2. It's nearly May which is traditionally the time we change divisions so the players are mearly doing their best to keep the traditional values of the club going. Really they should be applauded.....though it's always good to break with tradition now and again.....
3. Ronnie Moore is a mystic meg marvel. Does anyone have his mobile because I want to know what the lottery numbers are this w/e
4. Anyone who's followed the Albion for more than a season should know we're not one for unexciting finishes eg midtable. Said that when everyone was jumping up and down excited at the prospect of midtable obscurity 6-8 weeks ago.
5. It's depressing but no where near as bad as the war years that saw the Great Dictator Archer toppled. And the thing about wars is that you don't desert. So get behind the time on Saturday and rock to Attila's music in the stands!

Say Hello wave goodbye is particularly GAY and therefore appropriate.

I was aware that it was an ironic chant you patronising bell end, I was just interested in whether it was a particular incident that provoked it or just the fact that we were outplayed/losing.
