It's not. South Derbyshire club Gresley Rovers were already Southern League champions but their ground was not up to Conference standard. I believe they inquired of the Conference if they would be allowed to use the Baseball Ground but were refused, even though they would not be sharing it (at least not with Derby's first team). The irony of this is that their 2000 capacity village ground would have been hosting the Albion in the Southern League Premier Division in 1997-8.I thought we would join the Conference but be unable to be promoted back whilst ground sharing. Withdean would have been suitable. I have no idea if that is true or not.
