A professional performance at last (and that's just the phone-in)

I have to admit, Steve Grant was ALOT better than Ian Hart, but then in fairness, I've never been a fan of Ian on the phone in anyway...That's nothing personal against him, I just don't think he's got a "radio" voice and without knowing the bloke, I've always felt that he loves the sound of his own voice a bit too much...Can't dispute his committment and passion to the Albion though.

My biggest problem with Harty was him keep repeating that damn phone number. Quite often twice in succession! Drove me mad. There should be a limit on how many times it is given out.

Could that be filling in time as there are no callers waiting.

For my part I would sooner that they gave the non league scores out straight after the game until about 5.15 then do away with the non league round up at 6.00 and continue the phone in until 6.30p, by which time most people are back in their cars at the P & R

What about Mark Brailsford then? He hosted the phone-in after Southend away, August 22. Most people seemed to enjoy his engagingly brisk style - AND he got rid of a drunk Dwayne pretty sharpish too!

Telling callers that they're pissed or boring (or both) and inviting them to leave is an important hostly function. Should Harty do this more often?

I can't say I'm too fussed either way. Both have their good and bad points. Maybe they could rotate each week? Harty for away games, Stephen for home games.

Seems like you're in the minority. Personally I liked Steve's performance and would like to hear him more often.

I`m with you on this.............. Stephen Grant is the future.

In case anyone's wondering what Harty's on about when mentioning criticism of the SCR staff, it's this thread.

I don't remember Steve ever referring to the "lovely Sophia", which is a plus.

to be fair I have met Sophia and she is indeed lovelly:p

As I have always said about Ian, you will miss him when he has gone. For all his bravado, he is albion through and through and his knowledge about the club is seconded only to Tim Carder.
