For Saturday with Murray injured, Wood gone back to West Brom (according to Sky) Hart, Sandaza and Holroyd not offered contracts so possibly unlikely to start.......we will presumably have Barnes and Agdestein starting and not a lot as cover.

Seems to suggest that as an absolute minimum we need two new strikers and possibly three (or four if Muzza goes). Odds on Wood coming back next season................? Pretty much nailed on I reckon (and a flair foreigner with only his you tube video and a good track record on Football Manager is surely a cert to appease the fans if Muzza buggers off :) ).

Think we need a striker who know's and can get goals at championship level. Danny Graham of Watford is the sort of player (not saying we will get him). As to who is available/lureable that's a different matter. Jay Simpson, Marlon King, Nathan Tyson, Dave Nugent. Would presume Hoskins may sign and maybe one from abroad, probably Spain.

we need two, veteran and an esatblished Championship scorer. we already have a young with potential and marquee names always come with marquee wage bills.

If Murray goes, which is increasingly likely, we will need 3 new strikers alongside Barnes. A proven goalscorer at Championship level; a Hoskins ( lower league capable of stepping up & potential) plus perhaps a young Preimership player on loan. Whoever they are, we need someone with pace and someone who can take a bloody penalty.

Matt Le Tissier fits half the bill ....

Marlon King is out of contract at Cov.
The fans absolutely love him ... (well, the male fans anyway) ... think he's the best striker they've had in years (not much competition, granted).

Would we want him here?

I would find it impossible to cheer for him. So no.

How the f*** are we going to afford a PROVEN goalscorer at Championship level when we're unwilling to pay the wage demands of an unproven Championship striker who's just scored 22 goals and was runner up in POTS. There is no such thing as a cheap proven goalscorer (at any level) let alone one that is out of contract (like Murray) and who therefore does not command a fee and can ask for mega wages. If Marlon King is out of contract he'll be wanting five figures a week (way above our cap if this board is to be believed). We might get Hoskins because he's spent a year at L1 level, his club has just been relegated, and he blew out the last time he was in the championship. I think we all need a reality check.

eRR, Cause maybe the unproven championship striker is asking for proven championships strikers money?

Marlon King is the type of player we need not really the type of human we would want though

Couldn't disagree more regarding established championship striker. We took on an 'unproven' manager and look what he did to 'unproven' players like Barnes.

I'd go with Wright-phillips possibly Hoskins from league1; Le Fondre, Clayton Donaldson from league 2.

If we are going to go for proven championship then Marlon King or Billy Sharp.
