A new idea to improve atmosphere at the Amex

Cheaper alcohol at the Amex would probably mean more consumption on site and the chance of pack mentality due to inhibitions being numbed???
Or a weekly dodgy ref

I don't like having to hear a lot of common working class people shouting when I'm trying to watch the football. Is there a sound proof booth I can hire if it gets too noisy.

What about a win?

TB

There are clearly many factors involved as to why atmosphere is good or not, and I can't help also feeling, that passion involving a winning mentality on the pitch is singularly the most important ingredient. If you have got this, then the crowd rises to the occasion.

What about an enforcement squad to identify those in the North Stand not singing. Issue them yellow cards and if still don't sing escort them out of the stand and in direction of nearest library. How can we get 3000 at away matches all singing but so few at home?

Or it gets expectant and complacent. Brighton crowds historically at their best either away from home - congregated like minded individuals - or when there is a sense of injustice in the air.

I don't think i've ever been at a home match (bar the Hartlepool Fans United match) where the home crowd made for an obviously improved performance on the pitch in 27 years of watching (without one of the above coming into play) We're just not that partisan.

The atmosphere is always better with either a poor ref who unjustly penalises the albion, or when the albion plays well.

I prefer the second solution to the atmosphere woes.

Seeing as how everybody's got a smart phone, how about an Albion-sponsored ringtone of atmospheric crowd noise, to be triggered automatically via the stadium app? :moo:

This is not a new idea but it's one we haven't seen for years now, forwards who know where the goal is and pepper it with shots is 100% guaranteed to make the Amex rock, shame we haven't got any. Although it seems Hughton is trying to cajole CMS into being a decent forward again by picking him as a starter for the third game in a row.

Surely ever game at the Goldstone in 1997? Our away record was shocking!

Of course it shouldn't ever have to come down to what is on the pitch for a good atmosphere to be created. Obviously, clearly, it helps. But to suggest that the atmosphere is rightly entirely dependant on what is being served up on the pitch is just embarrassing. Fans of teams around the world who do not offer up football any thing like what Brighton do manage to create an atmosphere hundreds of times better.

Agreed. Simple isn't it.

Publically sack and humiliate Calde.

That should spice things up nicely.

Obviously reinstate him at 5 pm.

Did I say that was the definitive and only way to improve the atmosphere? It is certainly 100% guaranteed to do it, not sure why you object
