Worthing
The police offend me more than I have ever offended them.

But why worry .............

Whenever their has been an outrageous post, it is generally ignored or quickly refuted by the reasonable majority and that poster moves on to a more sleazy forum away from NSC, job done.

As soon we accept your 'discipline' of free debate the boundaries are distorted by the ones feeling they and they alone can offer the authority of those boundaries.

So if you or I are sometimes offended, big deal.
That's easy for us to say, but when things reach the point that Bozza is threatened with arrest ...

Absolutely right...There's a difference between offering your political opinion and outright racist remarks by a few keyboard warriors.

So a few ignorant keyboard warriors have worried you to the extent that the Police have now acted ?

I don't know what was said, but I do fear that we are gradually sliding towards a 'Police' state; by this I mean more control/surveillance, losing the freedom of expression. If you're racist, then that's your views. I may not agree with it, but I agree with your right to be able to express yourself. We are just getting so PC in this country, that we're losing part of what has made this a great country to live in. I'm in my 40's, and would class myself as a law-abiding citizen, however, I fear that Policing has now become focussed on the wrong things, like minor traffic offences, targets etc, and lost the purpose of CRIME prevention/solving. For example, I was stopped for speeding on Hove seafront (on the dual carriageway part coming from Hove logoon towards King Alfred). I was doing 42 in a 30, at 22:15, with virtually no other traffic on the road. Was I driving dangerously - no. Is it an accident blackspot - no. Why have the mobile camera there - purely to meet targets (which is what was implied to me at the Newhaven Police Station wehn I took my licence in). It's an area where they know that a lot of people will find it easy to drive faster, as it FEELS as though it's a 40 zone.

I'm dating a Mauritian girl (Indian), and I will make 'racist' comments to her in jest, and she will to me - it's just banter and we don't mean anything, but if I was to post these comments on here, some of the PC brigade would class me as racist.

Have missed a lot of this but was it an official communique from the police or just a piece of advice from a friendly neighbourhood Bobby ?

It's not the Police though, they only respond to the society that they protect.
Laws are decided by elected politicians and the society that elects the establishment and decides right and wrong. We may not agree with all the decisions on every perceived crime against society, that should lead to a debate on what the majority feel is right or wrong.
This is probably the wrong Board for the sort of debate under discussion, to most of us I suspect it is just part of the rich tapestry that makes NSC so addictive.
Somebody out there doesn't like it though, or is just being vindictive. It's a pity we cannot involve them in debate.

Unfortunately thats the kind of world we're living in, we're constantly watching our backs, careful about what we say in case of retribution. This sadly is the current climate, the status quo and unless the masses revolt against it then things will only get worse. This will never happen as the brits seem to moan alot (about paying so many taxes council tax, petrol tax etc.) but put up with it (we're one of the highest taxed countries in the world)

I'm not sure most of us are constantly watching our backs and being careful about what we say because of retribution.

The police annoy me.
Last week I got arrested for knocking my missus about for the third time in as many weeks. So I get some copper asking me, ''Why do you keep beating her''

I told him, '' Because I have fancy footwork, a decent left hook and a considerable weight advantage.

I went down the pub last night with a group of friends. It was marvellous. We talked about what we really thought of Muslims, left-wingers, scroungers and the police.

Lovely it was.

For the police to become involved and threaten arrest they must have been responding to a complaint(s) maybe by an NSC user or a guest. The only other reason is they are having a crack down on all internet forums - has anybody heard of any other sites given warnings ?

Whilst I do not like racist views being aired, I believe we should have the freedom of speech. This site should not be censored for somebody expressing an opinion as long as it does lead not to violence or racial hatred.

Having said that race should not be debated on this forum in future as it would threaten its existence. The problem is that in future would we be reprimanded for being sexist / Homophobic ? We may not be able to give our views on a female manager or use the 'bit gay' smiley. When censoreship starts where does it end ?

I think yesterday was a sad day.

NSC seems to be pretty well regulated with extreme views shouted down pretty quickly by the majority of users. There are a minority who use the site to wind up everyone but the moderators do pick up on it reasonably quickly. For the police to threaten Bozza is frankly unacceptable - people should be responsible for their own actions. It should be stated that if any individual breaks the law that they are responsible and face the consequences of their actions.

As El said I will leave it for now but in my mind this country is slowly becoming a Police state. The Fight will go on

Coventrygull - just because NSC/Bozza have decided to take a more strict approach does not mean they've surrendered to a 'police state'. This forum is about the Albion first and foremost, and anything that threatens the existence of NSC should be sent elsewhere. There are other places where people can voice their opinions on all sorts of subjects, race/politics inlcuded. NSC is not one of them and it should not be taken advantage of because of it's easy access to a high number of members.

:albion2: and :albion2: only. Peace.
