To all those that voted for the Muppet Christmas Carol. We, The Snowmen of Brighton, thank you for a good fair and honest battle. It was fun to see two great classics going head to head, and to be honest for a while I thought you had us on the run.

But now we face the final. A battle against a true giant, who somehow defeated the great Home Alone.

There are many reasons why the Snowman should win the final but the biggest has to be patriotism. Its a wonderful life is a good film, but is it what England expects to see. Snowman is ours, and not only that it's Brighton's.

Also the Snowman belongs to our generation. Are we really saying that the we haven't produced a true Christmas classic since 1947? I don't think so. This is our film.

The Snowman is the ultimate Christmas thrill. A true timeless classic of English genius with a little bit of Brighton thrown in.

So please muppet supporters, unite with us Snowmen, and lets bring the crown home to Blighty, home of the film-maker, home of the Seagulls, home of Christmas.

Agree with that. I fully expected it to be Home Alone v Snowman or MCC.

That would have been my top three. But it wasn't meant to be, and only the Snowman remains to fight for the right to be crowned a true Christmas classic.
