Sussex but not by the sea
I'd say it is 95% likely they will win the game and saving my prayers for another day. Bit better chance if this was a home game but now its just... getting something from this looks a bit gloomy.

Hopefully not a stomping.

Shrugable game. Part of me just wants to get it over with, waiting to hopefully crush the Saudis.

Exactly how I feel, this game is almost a nuisance, I want all our main players available for Newcastle.
I’d almost prefer we went for it Wednesday night and rested a few on Saturday.

The optimist in me says man City won because we made some catastrophic mistakes at the back , not little ones major ones and if our defence is sorted then we a chance . I would consider getting Duffy back adds a level of stability though clearly not the most skilfull or fast.

We will need to score which is a bigger issue so I would be prepared to take a chance on two forwards who can run at their defenders , not go up against them in headers . That might mean Connolly - if we don't/won't play him why is he on the bench or maybe go for one of the youngsters - Ferguson or Tola or Sarmiento (though not sure how fast any of them are against PL players) . The other option is to give Lamptey a more forward position , he has scored and is often looking to. My opinion , waiting to be shot down.

Brighton factually.....
I think the best course of action for me this weekend and next Saturday is, I am going to New Cross for a three day Psychobilly dirge of the same old shite bands, obviously no foreign bands can make it, but I will mainly be taking the day off from football...
I am not going to look at results until Monday morning...

City scored when we made mistakes. Watching Liverpool this year, they don't need the opposition to make mistakes for them to still score!

Its a tough one isn't it. Our second half performance on Saturday showed that we do deserve to be where we are in the league and that we can match any side on our day- unlike the first half!

So, given that the Foxes are likely to play an under strength side, should we actually go for this competition and put out a full strength first team,in the hope of progressing and almost accept that saturday will be a defeat and maybe rest some players ahead of more winnable games ?

I am hoping that Liverpool have one of those matches where a team just can’t score. We have had them but even Liverpool and city have them. Didn’t Liverpool have something like 100 shots without scoring at one point last season? Lots of weird misses. I would take us playing the West Brom role and then to play our role from the hawthorns last season.

The teams below us all play each other so we can only drop so far anyway!

Fork me, I'm still traumatised from the 6-1 drubbing we took in the FA Cup a few years ago,AND we scored 4 of the 7 goals. I fear another day like that however, I was ready for that last season and,hey-ho,we beat them. Funny old game football innit?

If Klopp sets up the same way City did in the first half with Salah wide on the right, Mane wide on the left and either Jota or Firmino through the middle and they apply the high press then I'm not to hopeful.
I will still be there though hoping for a repeat of last season and the 83 Cup game

Maybe if Salah, Van Dijk and Keita could all get themselves sent off after five minutes we'd have a chance in salvaging an unlikely 2-2 draw.

Their attacking at the moment is ridiculous - they have scored 35 goals in their last 10 games with only Man City keeping them to 2 or less.

I think big Bob is going to be busy on Saturday.

I predict we will be first on MOTD - and not in a good way

We defend pretty well but in the panic of pressure we have a tendency to give the ball away too easily, and this is where we have let goals in. It will be a difficult one against Liverpool as they are relentless. If we can calm down a bit there will be opportunities to catch them on the break and make a good game of it. I’d be happy with any result other than a hammering. We are still well placed in the table and are quite capable of getting results against most of the teams in the league in order to finish in the top half (which would be fantastic).

That's very much as I see it.

I remember when Lewis Dunk played keepy uppy into his own net. I’m hoping we won’t see a repeat.

An excess of negativity on here.

Yes, they are in red hot form, but we've got enough to cause them problems as well. I could see a 3-2 type game
