If you're doing revision; hang on in there! I think I worked harder for my GCSEs than I did for my A-levels and the first year of uni. I find revising in the bath is pretty good, not sure why. I didn't go overboard on the A-level revision. Maybe a day or so cramming for each exam. But I paid the price with the tears on results day.

I took my A-levels in 1996 and now teach A-Level. I would say that the content and exams have not changed at all really - they are no more difficult or easier than 10 years ago.

The difference now however is that rather than taking one 3hr exam at the end of 2 years, your modules are broken into bitesize exams and coursework with the option to retake modules you did not get a decent grade in.

So I would say the content is not easier but the format to pass most certainly is.

Thanks Wilko, nice to hear an unbiased view from an insider.

Did you manage to speak to anyone about the A2 maths mechanics paper ( module 1)which Portslade recon they are going to appeal against!

Sorry forgot to get back to you. It was a different problem they had here, they use a different exam board I believe.

So are they appealing against the content of the paper then ?

Yes...seemly, the questions were on the cusp of mechanics 1 and 2, but they were worded in such a way as they appeared to be 2, which they had not done.

They tried to match the questions to past papers and they were totally different.
