3 A's and Miss TRHK is off to Uni of London. Delighted for her. Although interestingly she had to get through a day of interviews during which they sent candidates home after each round of tasks/interviews (Apprentice-style). I assume this will become more common for colleges that are over-subscribed.

On BBC this morning. Does anyone ever get anything than an A or an A Star nowadays ? Every single time I watch these live results everyone has at least an A.

Maybe the kids expecting Cs and Ds aren't the ones that volunteer to open them live on telly?

If everyone gets an A does this not demean the value of this result. If you apply for a job and all your competitors have A grades as well what is the point ?

No two U's and a D for my son - but he only has himself to blame for that - think he needs to have a long hard think now about what he wants to do - not really sure the way forward from here x

Ideally they should pick a kid who's a bit up themselves expecting straight A*s but open the envelope to reveal Cs and Ds. THAT would make good telly.

A-levels are by far the hardest examination you'll take in education - that's what all my teachers told me

Oh and they're an absolute BITCH!

I think that depends on what you do after A-Levels! In some ways they're straightforward as there is a set amount of stuff to learn and you just regurgitate it in response to the questions asked, but that's not to say people don't find them stressful.

I do think that its quite harsh that the whole trajectory of your life can depend on a few marks here and there.

Thus far the press seem to be struggling to find the fitties with good results!

I reckon they definitely are.

And I can't wait for the inevitable picture of three blonde TRIPLETS from Guildford who have all got 4 As and who would, each of them and in turn, absolutely GET IT.

But they're probably all going to Oxbridge and already have boyfriends called Tarquin, Sebastien and Zac.........

My daughter was hoping to go into Midwifery but they had 700 applicantants for 40 places. She got into the interview stage last April where they had to do English and Maths assessments and face an interview panel but because she was competing against 100's of 30 somethings who fancied a career change and had far more interview experience she didn't get past that stage.

Could this be the worst year EVER for pictures of TIDY 18 year-olds celebrating good A-Level grades?

I think we need to be very concerned.

I got two N's and a D ... but that was in 1993... I wonder what they'd be now...

this is what annoys me , we'll be complaining of a shortage and advertising for foreign midwives again in 2 years time.

Do you know him, or know anything about his academic record, or future career goals?

How can you possibly 'not agree' with his choice?
ok, to put it in blunter terms , i think its a subject not worthy of a degree course, which you to be honest you knew , if you want to comment on my posts why not make it worthwhile , otherwise why not just f*** off until you come up with something worth replying to, cock.
