Heard this from a friend of a club employee - no reason why it's not true. What do you reckon?
A few days before he left the club, apparently Adams asked Barry Lloyd to take a look at a player he was interested in signing. Lloyd then had a meeting with Knight who said "don't look at that player, look at this player!" which he then duly did. When Adams later found out the player that he wanted to look at hadn't been looked at, stormed into Knight's office and basically said, "Who's the f**king manager here?!".
And the rest is history.
