lets start with the 'penalties.'
the one that our fans went mental for (when garner went down) that was NEVER a penalty - garner has a tendency to go down easily and that was the case once again. and your penalty shouldn't have been given. clarke got the ball and barely made contact with the man. there was a couple of other defenders close by - once he's given it, a yellow card was fair. smithies is a penalty specialist - he's saved one in the under 19's world cup against brazil - so murray wouldn't be a problem
then gus poyets reaction was one of the most disgracful things i've seen at the galpharm. he waved the imaginary red card around and then once the ref 'yellowed' clarke, he then spent the next 2 minutes sarcastically applauding.
your goal. for some reason, yesterday, we kept getting caught 2-on-2, and even then, peltier deflected it in. good play in the build up though.
our first goal came from a free-kick that should never have been given, but how does a striker who is in double figures already this season get a free header like that!?
second goal - how can your man (barnes?) complain about the ref giving the free-kick!? el-abd was unlucky, but you win some you lose some.
ANKERGREN - for any of you that made the long trip must have been slightly pissed off with him, time wasting from the first minute?
peter clarke then gave away a free-kick in the second half, despite getting the ball, and there was 6 of your players crowding the referee waving imaginary cards in his face. that just isn't right.
as for the end. well, what a farce. according to our website commentary service - one of your players said something racist to our right back - and that is why it kicked off.
clark's card waving gesture at the end of the game wasn't done anywhere near poyet, your players or your bench. i don't see why it's such a problem. and as for poyet's comments about the referee - he was awful both ways all day - he let you kick us up and down the pitch for about an hour.
