lets start with the 'penalties.'
the one that our fans went mental for (when garner went down) that was NEVER a penalty - garner has a tendency to go down easily and that was the case once again. and your penalty shouldn't have been given. clarke got the ball and barely made contact with the man. there was a couple of other defenders close by - once he's given it, a yellow card was fair. smithies is a penalty specialist - he's saved one in the under 19's world cup against brazil - so murray wouldn't be a problem

then gus poyets reaction was one of the most disgracful things i've seen at the galpharm. he waved the imaginary red card around and then once the ref 'yellowed' clarke, he then spent the next 2 minutes sarcastically applauding.

your goal. for some reason, yesterday, we kept getting caught 2-on-2, and even then, peltier deflected it in. good play in the build up though.

our first goal came from a free-kick that should never have been given, but how does a striker who is in double figures already this season get a free header like that!?

second goal - how can your man (barnes?) complain about the ref giving the free-kick!? el-abd was unlucky, but you win some you lose some.

ANKERGREN - for any of you that made the long trip must have been slightly pissed off with him, time wasting from the first minute?

peter clarke then gave away a free-kick in the second half, despite getting the ball, and there was 6 of your players crowding the referee waving imaginary cards in his face. that just isn't right.

as for the end. well, what a farce. according to our website commentary service - one of your players said something racist to our right back - and that is why it kicked off.

clark's card waving gesture at the end of the game wasn't done anywhere near poyet, your players or your bench. i don't see why it's such a problem. and as for poyet's comments about the referee - he was awful both ways all day - he let you kick us up and down the pitch for about an hour.

Agree with most of that. I thought our pen was soft, Muzza does know how to go down, though to be fair winning a penalty for us this season is taking away a goal rather than giving us one given our APPALLING record at hitting the onion bag from 12 yards.

Given that Muzza was goal side of Clarke, it was either a penalty + a red OR a yellow for Murray for diving, the referee fudged it.

Garner's dives were very poor though, he needs to go back to acting school for them.

I thought your fans were pretty vocal throughout, we had a big turnout (864) which for a match two weeks before Christmas was good, but I thought we were quite quiet.

Galpharm is a great stadium, I think the return match could be a cracker, our final one at Withers, let's hope there's not too much to play for and both sides are up by then.

garner can f*** off back to forrest instead.

it had a derby style atmosphere at time yesterday..

should be a good return game - just hope it doesn't mean anything as we've secured top spot by then, and you're just behind us. ;)

I think we were the better side until Hudders first goal. Equalising so soon after we had scored was always going to give them the momentum for the rest of the game.

A lapse of concentration from a set piece cost us the game (and our shocking penalty taking).

Watched the highlights just now. Murray antics after your penalty were deplorable, waving at the Linesman demanding a card. That is not the Albion way is it?
All the shenanigans at the end, really daft. I did not see the incident, mentioned above, where 6 Albion players were alleged to surround the Ref demanding a card, but I can believe it.
You utterly destroyed us at the Valley and were brilliant, no question, why are you resorting to this nonsense? If this is something encouraged by Gus Poyet it is to the detriment of the Albion. I rather think it is pressure showing.
Off to the Valley now I'mon you reds.

Doesn't make it right though and he shouldn't have done it. I don't like the card waving and the players and managers should take a look at themselves.

The trouble is we have had awful referee's this season, home and away - starting at Swindon. Possibly wasn't a penalty, but the first Huddersfield goal was NEVER a free-kick, but once its given the players should get on with the game and concentrate.

Getting boring now.

What do you want us to do? Ask for his head on a platter?

from what i have seen, plenty of people on this forum have been criticising us and the referee, despite not actually being there.

what i said wasn't biased or unfair - i'm an honest town fan, if we get outplayed i'll admit it, no excuses.

i just gave an honest report on what happened for those who weren't there, so they can know what happened.

I bloody love people who think Ankregen was time wasting. If it isn't a goal kick and the ball is sat there on the floor, it's IN play.
Casper waits for the opposition to come to him so he can safely pass the ball to the player who was previously being marked by the opposition striker who went to get the ball off Casper.
If he was time wasting, he would have been booked for it or at least had a telling off from the ref!

Most of us watched it on a live stream so had a better view than those in the stands.

You don't need to defend Lee Clark lads - he'll get all the shit he deserves at Withdean regardless. So will your fans. Exactly like you did to us yesterday.

no he shouldn't - poyet and your players shouldn't either.

both were terribly bad decisions.

I think there were in general a lot of poor refereeing decisions ie their striker did 2 woeful dives and didn't get booked... But in the heat of football and the game it's easy to get carried away - I'm sure we'll all get over it by tommorow.

like we did to you? you were readily giving out the wanker signs etc when you scored, are we not entitled to do the same?

bet it didn't show poyet making a cock of himself?

i didn't come here for an arguement, i came to give a fair and honest opinion.

Did I imagine on the streaming of the game that towards the end when we were pushing for an equaliser, Casper was just about to take a GK and a ball boy or whoever threw another ball on the pitch, thereby wasting time getting the extra ball off?

i didn't come here for an arguement, i came to give a fair and honest opinion.
...in your opinion
