Went to the Multiplex at the Marina with a forced smile on my face as the selection was Ice Age 2 - The Meltdown.

Booked the tickets for the 2.15 pm which was just as well as when we arrived the " sold out " sign appeared next to the film.

Got the obligatory Dustbin of popcorn and extortionately priced drinks and settled down to endure 90 minutes as I don't particularly like CGI kiddies films/cartoons. Thought well at least its only 90 minutes and I will out of here by 4pm.

However, what a great little film, truely superb CGI effects, the best I have seen for this type of film with a decent story and great characters especially the Squirrel trying to get his Acorn, it was very well made and judging by the hysterical laughs from the under 8's at the front and the over 40's at the back went down well with all and sundry.

A true family film , toddlers, teenagers and adults will enjoy, even the cynical old bastards on NSC.

A recommended Easter family treat 7.9 out of 10.

7.1 is too low, its a real treat, better than Toy Story 1 or 2 and what the hell,

The greatest animated film I have ever seen.

Was Sid the Sloth's character based on Jar Jar Binks, same lispy talk and same eye on stalks to the side of the head and was meant to be annoying ???

The 2 people I went with who have seen both, both said part 2 was better.

well that's that decided then....

(to be fair, my comment was based merely on unanimity amongst the 5 "people" I went with...)
