A change of strategy?

OK, so Toko aside the new signings, and potential new signings have a far less 'flair' look about them and more of a 'British battlers' look...

O'Grady
Ward
Clayton
Stockdale
Baldock
Hughes

...change of policy from the club or a coincidence?

Definately more Burnley than Barcelona. Even Toko is an old school get stuck in type of player.

Clayton and Stephens can provide the creativity as well as a bit of grit.
Toko at the base
Crofts and Stephens in the middle
Buckley and Clayton wide
A very good midfield 5
Still Ince JFC March lualua to come in as well. Suddenly does not look to bad.
Another CB be nice as well in due course.

Good, Burnley went up. Barcelona finished 3rd and that for them was an awful season.

Not saying Burnley are better than Barca but maybe more direct gritty football is the way out of this league.

As I have said elsewhere, if you go back to the 'you need 7' (fighters) thread, for a team to be contenders, you'll see how lacking in grit we've become.
Which certainly showed towards the end of last season.

So to that end I don't believe it's a change in strategy, more of a topping up.

In the space of one season we went from Barnes not even being in the top 2, to CMS being about 5th and not even getting to 7.

It'll be interesting to see where the squad is come the biannual :bounce: on 01.09.
