Lincoln City 3-1 Brighton and Hove Albion

FA Cup First Round. Leon Knight was partnered in attack by Chris McPhee. Anyone care to reminisce about the game?

I think the real story is, why was Paul Watson on the bench? And it looks like Robbie Pathetic was playing in the centre of midfield?! I can't remember the game, though I was there, can anyone make sense of this line up?

Kuipers, Hinshelwood, Cullip, Butters, Mayo, Hart, Pethick, Carpenter, Jones, Knight, McPhee.

Is it a suprise we lost?

I remember that. One of my worst away games. It was freezing, we were crap and it was bloody miles away, I think I'm still angry about it now! I believe Lincoln were in the division below us.

Did they not have 2 penalties and it was reported that Keith Alexander asked the refs before the game to watch Cullip and Butters as they always held players when Hhigh ball came over from a cross or corner. The ref watched them and gave a penalty and I think that it was possibly 2.

Robbie Pethick was indeed in central midfield - the first sign that McGhee was going to come up with some bloody bizarre positional decisions during his tenure. Don't think Kuipers covered himself in glory either, which bought about the return of Ben Roberts before too long. Infact, was his first game back that 4-1 drubbing at home to Bristol City?!

I could swear it was McPhee that scored as well - that was the season he ended up nearly in double figures with virtually all of them coming in cup games

Didn't useless Cameron score for them that day?

No - that was a couple of years previously when we went onto win the title. Scott Ramsay played wide on that occasion if I remember correctly which was bloody weird. That was the day the first rumbles of discontent for Adams head started to be heard, which obviously peaked with the Kidderminster defeat
