Haddock.
Vouchers available last night. Got one.
None left by the looks of it
I looked at the site yesterday. The basic premise of the offer is that if you currently have an unused, unroadworthy bike, you can claim £50 towards getting it fixed up and getting you out of your car and back in the saddle. As I'm a regular cyclist and I already look after my bike It didn't seem to apply to me (fair enough), so I didn't apply for a voucher.
Given the popularity of this offer, I've more than a suspicion, it's being abused and just used to get a free service or a new part for bikes that are actually already in regular use.
I can't believe that tens of thousands of people have picked themselves up of their sofas, dusted of their old bikes that were lying at the back of their garages, pushed them down to their local bike shops, had them fixed up and are now happily pedaling around the cycling networks of this great country.
Like another poster on here, I was half way through the process when I suddenly felt guilty, I’ve been properly hammered by lockdown but I stopped the application as I realised I didn’t actually need it, shit as times have been.
I sent it to a mate who’s a chef with a death trap of a bike who got let go rather than furloughed.
He got a voucher thanks to me reading it on here.
Thank you, it’s the first bit of luck he’s had in nearly a year.
Can you use them for a service?
