Calderón's offer of a new contract at Brighton was withdrawn after he agreed to join League One rivals Southampton in May 2010. Thar day was the real start of the 'Gus way'. Two ball-playing fullbacks. Bet Calde wondered what he had let himself in for that day, with snow cleared off the pitch piled up on the touchline.

It was bloody freezing that day and I think Walsall had not played at home for over four weeks due to the weather. There was snow all around the side of the pitch but you were right when I left after the game there was a definite feeling we are looking much better now.
