5 things learnt from the Millwall game

Without personalising: 5 things which came to mind after the 1-1 draw at Millwall.

1) We cannot or seem unwilling to kill games off after going ahead.
Yes we could have been 2 or 3 down at half time but then to go 1 up and completely dominating, we created very little to kill Millwall off. They were there for the taking.

2) We had no-one who can run at Millwall with the ball from central midfield. Was Vicente injured? Couldn't understand why he wasn't even on the bench. We do need someone to drive forward and run with the ball.

3) We need another striker. Someone who can hold the ball up and bring others into play. No criticism at all of CMS, Barnes and Hoskins but we do need another. Has to be said we are missing Murray.

4) Our set pieces tonight were terrible. Never mind Harley's piss poor penalty, he and the rest of the team couldn't even take a decent corner. Corners and free kicks very poor tonight.

5) Related to no 1, are we too negative?

Done what he does best. Held the ball up to take the pressure off his team! What we could do with ALOT right now!

Murray is amazing! Gutted we let him go!

Hoskins was very good tonight he runs with the ball and has good distribution.

Definitely got a problem with a attacking midfielder winning or picking up the ball and running at them. It was harleys best game and he wasn't good enough

Id like to see us play 451 away, with two wingers and CMS up front on his own. Close down the midfield and keep the ball, with two wingers attacking. When we are away we still chase the game and there is no need

7 . Two of our big money signings are so far a let down due to injuries . If that improves , we improve

I wasn't there tonight, but agree 100% with what you said as it's been a problem for us for over a month now.

Really really really want to see Buckley and Vicente start against West Ham. Vicente is class with his deliveries and overall play, and Buckley is quite frankly a fearless bastard. Bollocks to the tricks, he'll just ran at defenders and steam into the box. That could be the combination we/CMS need in terms of pace/production.

1) correct
2) thought matt sparrow carried the ball well and had a good game - happy for him think he could be in for a run in the team
3) Correct some one big - liked the look for Aaron McClean - we wont get him but someone like him
4) Correct Harley a disgrace
5) Thought we were great in the second half need the second goal obviously but not as negative as before - gus made good attacking subs - conceded what looked like a wonder goal maybe casper should have saved it?

He's exactly what we've been lacking, someone who can finish but his all-round play is superb - winning the knock-ons and balls in the air to feed them to our youngsters.
Agree with the ones who say a CMS-Murray partnership would be lethal in this division.

Agree, we were much better in the second half. We kept and knocked the ball around well without ever really creating many other clear chances. That was frustrating but I 'm sure Gus will know that especially as Millwall are not a good side who will struggle this season. Shame we couldn't put them away. Ankergen was excellent in the first half and made 2 fantastic saves but unfortunately was at fault for thier goal. He should have saved it.

Do you. Groan. Actually have thought as much for several weeks but if I have to justify the timing of the post ( not that I do) it's because we dropped two points last night whereas in previous weeks we've gained or played against teams who we might not expect to beat. We should have beaten Millwall last night. Seemed like a good time to see what people think.

not sure vincente would have fancied millwall way after a few flouncy throwing himself to floor against hull..... good decision not to play him imo.

No we brought lua lua to do that...and he does it brilliantly
