Callum Wilson went to Bournemouth from Coventry.
Cool story.
Callum Wilson went from league 1 to the championship, in a season when nothing was expected of Bournemouth. It really doesnt compare.

I cannot see us getting anybody better than Kermognant at the moment. We need one now not in January.
Not to mention that there's no comparison between all aspects of football now and that of 25 to 50 years ago.Peter Ward was 20/21 when we signed him. Mike Small although relatively unknown had top flight experience in a host of countries, Kevin Bremner had plenty of experience and had been promoted from the 3rd division with Millwall and Reading before joining us to again win promotion from the 3rd division. You cannot compare their signings to the suggestion we should sign Rueben Reid.

Interesting list but none of them for me. I believe we will be looking at a potentially higher quality, but then nothing would surprise me.

AS I said I am not saying Reid is the answer just to take look at if you dont look you dont succeed Peterborough seem to have made a lot of money and been succesful with bringing in players from lower league clubs.

Reuben Reid at Plymouth 27 years old 265 gaames 94 goals? Going out of contraact soon.
AS I said I am not saying Reid is the answer
Give him a month contract with an offer to extend if succesful, not a lot to lose as his wage would be nothing like it was in his prime.
Give him a month contract when he hasn't played for 6 months and not had a club since the summer? We'd effectively be paying him to train as I doubt he'd be fit enough for at least half of the games we've got over the next 6 months. How he played in a charity game against mainly 40+ year olds that have been long retired is no indication of how fit he currently is, and there is a massive difference between being fit and being match fit. The fact that he was once one of the best left backs in the game but there appears to be no rush to sign him makes me ask questions.
Paul Scholes looked quite good in that game. And LUIS FIGO.
I'm not saying they are the answer, but...
