Without knowing the list, I would imagine that the All Blacks feature quite highly. Jean van der Velde and (possibly unfairly) Tim Henman. Holland and Spain must be up there as well.

Wasn't that Yank golfer Scott Hoch called 'Hoch the Choke' for a while, after blowing a few winning positions? Who knows, he may have actually got to win one eventually, but extra points for the rhyming surname.

Jimmy White must be a certainty to be on the list. World Championship snooker final, 1992, blew a 14-8 lead over Stephen Hendry and 1994 missed an easy black in the deciding frame. Still gutted he's never been world champion.

Indeed. And didn't just lose it - lost the next 10 to lose 18-14. Desperate. I remember seeing it at the time, it was truly horrible to watch.

The only time in sport I can recall finding it similarly hard to watch (at least, without money on it) was that Greg Norman Masters blow-up against Faldo. Terrible stuff.
