Is Hughton's preferred formation, with it looking more and more unlikely Bent will return we will surely be targeting 1/2 more strikers at least especially if O'Grady is off as well...

Whether my favourite 3-2-3-2 or the unconventional 4-1-1-3-1 the key is that our players perform as a unit with total commitment for the new manager, supply ammo for the lads up top and we'll improve. Keep it tight, none in our onion bag.

Have to be honest I thought Hughton preferred one up front?

Was just on talksport and they said the same that 442 is how he sets the team out. Might finally suit cms

Only going by what he said on Talksport in an interview, perhaps he will reevaluate with us but I would not be suprised to see us in the market for a striker.

I saw his Newcastle batter Cardiff 5-1 on a chilly Friday night a few years ago, and he definitely favoured 4-4-2 that night. Andy Carroll partnered by Leon Best, who both scored.

I don't think it is.

Looking here, it says it's 4-2-3-1:

Same here:

Here, he changed to 4-4-2 - a change from the norm:

I'm pretty sure he's happy to try either 1 or 2 up front, depending on which players he has available (whole team, not just the strikers) and the opposition.

Well he said about 15 minutes ago on Talksport that he prefers 4-4-2 unless my ears were deceiving me.
lol, fair enough.

He's allowed to change what he likes for a start, as he's certainly not always played with 2 up front.
