Is anyone else who used to religiously follow international cricket basically bored of it? England matches used to always grab my attention but now they seem to play so many pointless series that I just don’t care. It is just like another franchise tournament between mates but this time they all come from the same country.

I am going to sound like an old man but even 15 years ago you got the impression they all hated each other when you got into a series. Now everything just feels like a jolly good laugh.

Anyone else disengaging?

It's a pretty low bar for me... it only has to beat Countdown and Lingo as a WFH distraction.

No I'm with you. I had no idea this series was taking place until my attention was drawn to it, perhaps by a post/thread on here. I then promptly forgot all about it again until this thread! I didn't know we were 2-0 down - and I don't care. I've actually been more interested in the Women's Ashes. We've been really shit in that, but at least I've followed the results.

Know what you mean and the sheer volume of T20 and ODI games undervalues them. Still love a test series though but appreciate less do now

I prefer a Test series too, but I'll happily watch any cricket. This series, England were dire in the first match, and could have won the second. I think they'll win today. Carse and Smith looked very much at home in the 2nd match.

Same re tests. I still like them and still go but I have not been to international limited overs match for years. They just don’t matter. Players don’t care.

Only time people care is when it's the latter stages of a world cup.

Saying that, when England played over in The Netherlands for 3 ODIs it was fantastic.

This. There's no importance to the contest, nothing at stake, just a midweek home run derby to make some money.
