Not doubting you but I wonder if you might have misheard because the date that has been banded about for sometime is the 31st May.

Not misheard as there are posters all over the stadium with 31 days to go written on to remind all the workforce.

I'm assuming they are not planning on taking any lunch breaks or sleeping any time in the next 31 days then? Or are we going for the MK Dons "half-finished" look?

Aren't the completion date and handover date likely to be different? I.e. completion date is 31 days time, then 2 weeks or so for snagging and then final handover 31/05?

Very much this. Also the club get "the keys" on the 31/5.

You only get "the keys" when the work has been signed off as complete.

I said before and I will say again there are some very big performance bonds that have been taken out. If its not completed on time then there are some hefty paymennts that need to be made. The insurers of those bonds certainly do not want to start paying out.

They are monitoring progress almost daily.

If the current groundstaff are hard at work at the withdean then who is monitoring the new pitch? this could be a stupid question but im just interested :)

On the tour Saturday i asked the same question, they have employed a pitch specialist who is monitoring daily with watering and fertaliser and soil samples taken everyday, its well techie stuff this grass growing!! Just so you get an idea the pitch inc watering system has cost £670,000

Don't think the site is dealing in "working days" anymore as they work most weekends. They have to finish in advance of the handover date so everything can be commissioned and inspected properly before the keys are given over.

I was there and had a tour on saturday and I was told its behind schedule. Did you see inside the place, theres a ridiculous amount to do and in 6 weeks, I cant see it happening.

That said, who cares aslong as its ready for 6th august.
