[London Calling]

To quote "Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite."


FRom the clips it appears the Spartans have developed at times super human powers, nevertheless it seems to be picking up good reviews across the states, which isn't actually a cultural oasis.

It seems to go into fantasy world at times but the battle scenes are meant to be excellent and gruesome.

May also start thr debate were the Spartans the best ever warriors/fighters.

This film as history also tends to forget, that at this battle were 7000 others Greeks, with the 400 Thesians also staying with the Spartans and dying with them.

Actually watched it last night at the IMAX - biggest screen in the UK.

I was a bit disapointed, the action, seemed a bit repetitive and in some respects the screen itself was overpowering,

the film just seemed to lack something,

Could a people be so callous, brutal but then in another scene be so warm.

The good usage of women writhing around was surprising erotic, especially erect nipples about 6" in length. A porn film would definately be an experience at a IMAX

Only 3 out of 5. But with some great quotes which unfortunately I already knew and expected, from knowing the subject and from the clips on the net.

though basically a dramatisation of bush's crusade in iraq. i'm sure it will go down well in the states. a little too well.
