just re watched it on seagullsplayer, wtf was that?

somebody (defender) cant see who in front of Ambrose tries to clear the cross from Zaha and does an air kick, completely missing it.

Ambrose scuffs it and Ankergren flaps and is virtually laying on the ground, and tries to pat it with both hands as it bobbles over him. If he stood up he would have saved it.

Has anyone else seen it?? thought it was schoolboy stuff

Is it any worse than our defending for the other goals: palace midfielder has the ball, no one closes him down, he plays it to an attacking midfielder, no one closes him down, it's passed to forward, we just watch and follow them as they walk across the box unchallenged, and let them pick their spot beore firing into the corner of the goal.

Meopham, Kent.
We do seem to have had a few peculiar, bobbling, pin-ball, type goals conceded at that end, going back to the Spurs game. Once, and it looks unlucky, but we're up to about 3 or 4 now, and that perhaps suggests a lack of composure back there.

From what I saw on the TV's in the stadium that night. It was a complete joke the last 5-10 mins. Completely different team. They looked hopeless , un motivated and basically gave palace an easy ride. Let them win. If they actually concentrated rather than pissing about. The end result would not of happend.

tbh the first and last goals did both involve a good bit of individual skill.

the second was comedy defending, air kicks and a flapping keeper lying on his back, having gone to ground to early and trying to palm it out, that could easily have saved if he didn't go to ground and just stayed on his feet.

2nd was terrible defending and a totally avoidable gift of a goal

I need to watch them again because I didn't see any paricular skill (at least not for a professional player in the championship). All I remember is our players not closing down early in the attacks, then backing off and backing off, giving them time and space on the ball to pick out their shots.

The first was comedy defending - was it Bridcutt who ended up lying on the floor for his challenge.

Agree, and while it was right in the corner it wasn't that well-struck a shot, and Ankergren didn't just not get to it, he didn't move. Angles can't have been right, some fault on the keeper.

Pretty sure it was sub Parr that crossed for the second, Zaha put him in down the right.

Totally agree with all these posts - this is my recollection of the game too in that we were pretty poor but not dominated/outplayed as suggested by some.

Seemed to me that our defence had sampled some of falmer's finest mushrooms at half time and they'd just kicked in with ten to go. Wish I'd have had some too as it may have been more amusing that it seemed at the time.
