A little tester for you all to ponder-no right or wrongs just an open disscussion..

Would £29m be better spent on players and get there first?

I don't think we are too far away from being a sucess, however we seem to be faltering of late,be it tactics, style of play, the 1st 10 games versus *easier?* opponenets,or just the fact that our team has cost only £5m odd to assemeble.

Perhaps we need to spend a little, easy to say it's not my money and i/we are gratefull-

BUT

25,000 crowds will last for only so long and Tony if your reading this,it would be nice to strike now,and go for it,before some people in these times of austerity decide to spend their money elsewhere...

Well if our academy ends up anything like Southampton's, the club will probably earn its money back and more.

Gotta think big. And total and utter respect to the club for that. They're building a DYNESTY here. It's a long term off-pitch PROJECT. Sadly no such on-field project equivalent exists. you can't plan for these things, cos every other club wants it as badly as you do. Might not make the Premier League with this manager and these players but it WILL happen. Just think back a couple of years. We were regularly beating the likes of Reading and, OK, drawing against the likes of West Ham and both these teams have yo-yo'ed in and out of the Premier League ever since. Our turn is long overdue and is imminent. Keep the faith!

The training ground will help us attract much better players than we can at the moment what with our training facilities basically being a school sports hall.

The most curious thing..
No because we would piss it on some Palarse reject striker.

Getting the infrastructure right is the correct way to go. We've got all the time in the World to make the big league.

We need it,we will eventually gain from it,but it's the attendances and the finance that comes from them that worries me,i don't want us to blow this opportunity by being too tight, think about what we have spent so far,in context of getting to the top flight & without wishing to pay stupid amounts on wages(that will come at some point if we reach the Premier anyway)-extremly little.

You and i may have but we may have to suffice on gates of 14,000 to get there 3 years down the line

It'll be at least five years before we started reaping the benefit of the facility, I'm sure TB will provide a competive playing budget in the mean time wthout spunking loads of money up the wall.

I think it could pay off spending so much on a training facility, Peter Taylor might come back now.

perhaps we shall have to settle for a few play off finals first because clearly,in finance terms were we to win promotion,we could never afford it..

We will probably never get a better time to build the infrastructure for our club so we have to seize the moment now. This is a massive investment in the future of our club and will take us to next level.

you have to see that as a cost spread over the next 15-25 years, over which we will reap the rewards.

Where is 'there'?
The club is 100 years old & however much we would like to charge on, the next 10 years will only be 5% of the first 200 years, so lets build for the future & not think 'our' time is more important than others before or to come

And if it all goes Pete Tong we can always build a five star hotel complex on the site to serve Brighton International Airport
