Kicked off big discussion in household last night...I must have admit have been mulling it over all morning

1. She did not seem to be challenged when the CCTV showed that the accusation of being forced to hotel was unlikely - presume it was this that made her an unreliable witness from CPS perspective
2. Or why she agreed to go back in first place - if she had not been coerced what was her expectation of the night
3. Why was he not challenged when the blood on sheets disproved what he said had happened that night...as well as the hospital report
4. As a general question if consent to sex is clearly given and then later withdrawn...is it still rape or is it then assault?
5. With the CCTV of the argument afterwards outside the hotel - could not lip readers had decoded what was being said - which could have been the clear evidence needed?

Doc shows how difficult these cases are

When these type of cases go to the cps, are they going with a set amount of evidence that has been collected within a set budget?

Theres not a set budget for collecting information, there may be limited resources or decisions may be made on submissions and the chance of a result, but its not a specific budget for each case.

Okay thanks, it was just that I was thinking along the lines of a case I was a juror on, where there was a lack of evidence which had been collected, and had not been presented very well.

Brighton / Hove actually
It did seem odd that a girl would leave a pub with a stranger who threatened to kill her if she didn't. Surely it would be safer to stay in a public place.

Doesn't really follow any logic.

Disappointing that the bent copper modelled himself on Bruno!

But he was unbelievably thick though. His crass stupidity made the programme even more entertaining. Didn't actually take a lot of solving though did it? Not sure he could have made it any easier!

Not seen it but read about the case.

Did they explain why he did it as it can't have just been for a grand?!
