The only time in 31 years I've ever had to buy a ticket off a tout. Then my brother turned up 5 minutes before kick off, completely slaughtered with my ticket in his pocket!

Still, MARVELLOUS SCENES. I still have a load of newspaper cuttings from the day after somewhere up in the loft. Headlines include "Melia is dancing all the way to Wembley" and "5 & 9 the Brighton line"

I was there - courtesy of 2x coachloads from the Red Lion Turners Hill - probably last in the ground as I had to wait for my mate's missus to have a pee!!!

Amongst all the other more important events of that day already mentioned above, the fact that the Metropolitan Police Brass Band provided the entertainment that day sticks in the memory, for some reason. Coppers, in helmets, with tubas.

That day had both Highbury and the FA Cup in both their pomp. Unforgettable stuff.

Fantastic day, never to be forgotten:drink:

I was there and for the league match against Arsenal when the attendance was only 17,972 so that just shows how times have changed..........Arsenal having less than 18000 at Highbury and i believe around 2000 of them came from Brighton!............need i say it was a much better atmosphere the next time i went there 2 months later with nearly half the 54,627 present going bananas
:lolol: :clap2: :clap2: :albion:
