If I was Parish I would do the exact same thing. They KNOW they will lose him and saw that Wolves fot £12m for Fletcher who has proved a hit for Sunderland.

Parish's job is to send the buying clubs into HYPERBOWL whilst keeping his fans onside. Everyone KNOWS hes not worth that but that's completely irrelevant.

He is not going to come out and say "We'll accept £6m for him" are they?

This. And it makes lazy journalists write stuff like "The £20m rated ace..." which serves to reinforce the impression.

If he was our player and we were putting a price tag on him, could you imagine the number of our fans saying sell him just for £500k / £1 million and it would be a good bit of business for us, Judging by how much they rate other players we have had and sold in the past.

By putting a stupid price on Zaha now, they can get a far higher price than they would otherwise have got when they do sell him, even if it ends up being just £4 to £5 million.

I actully dont believe Palace are that hard up, the owners have stated that they will run the club as a viable company and try to make ends meet (which is a good thing) they dont want to spunk to much of their own cash into it.

Whether Zaha is worth 20 mill is in the eye of the buying club TBH..Carrol 35 mill for instance. He is a very good young player whether you like it or not!!

When he's sold for an undisclosed fee, the fans will think they got nearer 20M than 2M......... If he was talked about as going for 20M they'd hardly sell him for less than half of that would they!!! Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm YES ;)

I think they will get £6m with absolute EASE. Walcott, never played in the prem £12m, Bale never played in the prem £10m, Oxlade-Chamberlain 12m, Rhodes (league 1) £8m.

£6m is the very LEAST they will get in my opinion.

We may argue about the price but I think we are all agreed that he is on his way...

This. Andy Carrol for £35m is THE example of this.

Jordan Henderson £16m :lolol:

Stewart Downing £20m :lolol:

Fabio Borini £10.5m :lolol:

Joe Allen £15m :lolol:

Olivier Giroud £12m :lolol:

Matt Jarvis £10.75m :lolol:

I'd rather have Zaha than all of them if I'm honest. Although Zaha £20m? Victor Moses only went from Wigan to Chelsea for £9m FFS. And he's proven!

I think his price tag will depend largely on whether he decides to represent England or the Ivory Coast at international level.

Southampton have always had a good record for producing quality youngsters.

Zaha will be in the England starting line up in the next World Cup........

I wouldn't be too sure about that. If he leaves Palace at the end of the season, that gives him one year in a Premier League side, I'd have thought bench as best for Zaha, maybe even a squad player.

I would like to see someone like Ole Gunnar Solskjær given the job. Think we have seen the same old names currently on the managerial merry-go-round far too often and we need a breath of fresh air. Someone out of left field like Dougie was - ah, maybe not then.....

This. Brilliant tactical footballer in his day, and he's done rather well as a manager. Also similar to Dougie in that he's young, ambitious but also has experience of european football.

GF Zola would be another one I'd like to see.

I despise Kenny Jacket the potato headed freak, but he's done well with the Wall. Also Powell at Charlton shouldn't be overlooked just because they're pikey horse bothering scum.

I wouldn't be against Mick McCarthy, I think he's done wonders at this level, with mickey mouse outfits.

I think Coppell might be going backwards, surely he's retired now. How long did he stick it out at Brizzie.

Poyet is unlikely to leave BHA which is a shame, because I'd have him in a flash.

Latest on the vacant job, give it to Thorn !!!

Gus might be "bored" with our strikers, but he isn't stupid enough to go to Palar$e. You are aiming too high.

Steve Parrish knows he'll have to sell Zaha either at Christmas or in the summer, (assuming Palace don't go up, God, what a thought) so he's just doing what any other Chairman with half a brain would do. Ironically Palace turned down at 7 million bid for him from Bolton during the January window so unlikely to go for anything less than 10 million. I have to say I think he's a brilliant young player as is Jonathan Williams. You can't argue with Palace's youth policy.

It wasn't a £7M bid , it was only £4.5M
